I took marmite with me this weekend :rotfl:
I love marmite and mushrooms and aubergine.
I guess mushrooms and aubergine have similar textures? And earthy tastes.
I love mushrooms and aubergine but only like marmite. Until I read michaels post I thought maybe there was something wrong with me that I had missed out on the 'marmite' reaction to it.
I think mushrooms and aubergines are very sensual. But mushrooms are so varied it seems if you like some things of that kinda texture you might like one or two mushrooms. Or a different treatment of them. Eg. Not buttons, or chestnut and field, but maybe a chanterelle.0 -
...I even managed to force a hug on her before leaving. And she's still invited me back!lostinrates wrote: »OMG, pn, that's momentous! I want a hug!

Don't worry. I'll never force a hug on you. But if you ever want to give one I'll be happy about it.0 -
I'm back chez nikkster
Have had a fab weekend
Excellent, was wondering how you both were getting on with stuff :beer:Hate mushrooms, indifferent to Marmite, love Aubergine - ratatouille is good, drizzled with oil and roasted/bbq'd is even better - got to be cooked just right though or it can be horrid....
I've got a roasted ratatouille recipe which is gorgeous, nothing like the watery tasteless one I used to end up making in a saucepan.0 -
I dislike mushrooms, marmite and aubergines.
The All you can eat didn't have mushrooms. There were sausages, bacon, fried eggs, hash browns (although a little flat), baked beans, halved grilled tomatoes, panfried bits of potato and bacon in a creamy sauce. No tinned tomatoes, no mushrooms, no scrambled eggs. Also, toast with jams/marmalades. Go back as many times as you like..... I went once .... I'm telling no tales of others.0 -

Well your marketing skills seem to have landed me invitations to spend weekends gardening and cleaning... As if I don't have my own overgrown garden and untidy house to deal with.
You should have made me sound a bit more high maintenance and workshy0 -

I think I had about half as much on my plate as you each time
We both got your moneys worth out of the coffee I think!0 -
Changed a halogen spotlight bulb in the upstairs bathroom. Loads of black things fell out of the socket in the ceiling. Got a pan and brush to sweep them up and found the black things all over the bath were dead wasps.
We knew we had a wasp nest somewhere but never knew where. I hate them, but fortunately we only ever saw them when they were dying and crawling around the floor. Now we know where they came from.:eek:There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
