I really shouldn't like marmite - I use a bit of stock cube when cooking veg, but I never add salt to food whether eating at home or out (pepper is another story). But I LOVE marmite. It would come with me to a desert island, I'd work out how to make some kind of toast.

It probably says more about me tbh. That was the best way I could show PN how much I'd enjoyed spending time with her and thanking her for welcoming me into her home. I should have been more considerate :o
Awesome people don't need to be considerate all the time :)

I was (more than) a bit "non stop chatter"...... but I didn't feel nervous/twitchy or anything with you around. You're easy to share space with. I was relaxed in your company and enjoyed every minute of your visit.

The Fashion Police have called - and wondered if I have a forwarding address for you as they've some paperwork to serve.

These posts scream success, regardless of good amount achieved. :)

Now I can price up this for the garden space: http://www.decorativeaggregate-uk.co.uk/products.htm - scallops.

That'd be the front area.... and for the back garden I'll go and gather sea shells on the sea shore, bucketful by bucketful over time. Have bike + panniers .... gathering shells :)

They (scallops + sea shells) will look fab in your garden.

My hag stone is on my mantelpiece - not sure whether it'll live there forever, but for now it's reminding me of a brilliant weekend :)
I might have two pieces of seating furniture coming.... spoke to neighbours (who think Nikkster did an EXCELLENT job of the front) and they're buying new furniture and have two pieces to get rid of.... not seen them, not "my thing", but it's furniture that'll turn up like magic for free. So "yes". They say blue, I presume dark blue.

Nikkster sat on the sofa during her visit ... and I sat on my sun lounger and put my aching feet up on the folding chair ... and that was very comfy really.

Ahem. I'm not taking all the blame for that!

Free new seating sounds good. Even more so do the friendly neighbours :)
I bought my OK vacuum from Lidl recently. Seems to do the job, but I've no reference point to know if others would do a better/different job.

Ok - I'm probably in the best position to answer this!
Honest opinion - I prefer a stronger suck :rotfl: and a rotating brush. But I was using it on that thick pile carpet, and your New Pastures is laminate + short pile carpet. I think it will be absolutely fine for what you need to do.

You can [STRIKE]do my vacuuming[/STRIKE] have a go with my Dyson when you come and visit me :)

Ah, you did Google it then. Yes, hag stone. One of those interesting little old folks' tales .... fascinating stuff. Although finding one at all is "rare" (quite common in these parts I've noticed), finding a GOOD example would take time.

Hag stones are supposed to have magical properties, including protection against eye diseases..... probably very appropriate for you. :)

Starting at about £2 on ebay, for £6.50 you can have one strung with a bit of ribbon :)

This vacuum is the best I've used to date.... I didn't know brushes rotate, or do you mean like a roller brush at the front? Seen those in old telly adverts.

I'll take your word on your Dyson ... I'll be checking out how comfy your garden seating is ....

To answer a previous question - Friday's journey was via Oxford, this afternoon I ended up on the M25 (thought I'd told googlemaps I'd like to go via Oxford, but realised I couldn't have done when it was too late).

I think I must have passed quite close to Spirit's too.

:o Thanks PN. That's really lovely of you to say. I enjoyed your chatter (didn't seem excessive to me), and you also made me feel very relaxed in your territory. I could very easily have stayed longer (if I didn't have to get myself sorted out for work/ go to work tomorrow).

Did I leave some of my slobby clothes/ something else round yours? Or would you just like my address?!

I told you you should throw a sickie :)

Neither - just a (poorly executed) joke :)

I have a Henry vacuum. Most of the downstairs is wood and upstairs carpet, useful that you don't have to faff around adjusting for different heights.

I'm going to work tomorrow for a rest :p

Phew! I was pretty sure I'd had ample opportunity to check that I'd not left anything behind (took me about 10 minutes of looking through the many bags I'd brought to find my car keys) :)

    All sounds delicious Gen.

I've been for a walk around the garden. I have two baby aubergines :j I also have my first proper courgettes :j :j

It must have absolutely chucked it down around here in the past couple of days - the water butt is full to the brim.

PN was kind enough to arrange fabulous weather for Southern England the past couple of days :)

Poor form to quote oneself, but I've just been out to water some of the plants (most of the veg are waaaaay too close to each other for the rain to get to the soil) and I've spotted some mini cucumbers :) These ones are only supposed to be mini so I think I'll be picking one tomorrow. Had some mini carrots sliced on my dinner this evening - not sure whether it was just because I had them raw (+ I don't often eat carrots) but they tasted amazing.

    :)

....or whether it was because you've been forced to live on toast for two days and old shoe leather would have tasted great :)
