They've probably had a bit of a long journey? (If I remember correctly)
Yes, they've come from Brisbane. Previously they have come for a month but only stayed with us in short periods of 2-3 days between other trips. This time because we've got a house not a flat they decided just to come and sit in our house. I do like them but I also like being able to sit on my own sofa, watch my own tv, not have my wisteria randomly savaged etc.0 -
It does give me something to moan about though so that is a bonus.0

He was keen to tidy up his front piece, maybe put a bench out there for the evening sun, but wanted to know where his boundary actually was .... and I guess wondering if his effort would be worth it if the triffids were to be encouraged further.
Just catching up...
Was reading at speed during Friday lunchtime so had thanked but not read any of the posts properly.
'Somebody to sort it' made me chuckle :rotfl:
Bet you didn't tell them where you knew me from!
Glad they liked the changes. Would be a nice spot for a bench.0 -
We have a Dyson, but it is too heavy for me to carry up and down the stairs (it pulls on the adhesions on my chest) so I have recently been coveting a lightweight Vax hoover my SiL has. No miele here.
I like marmite, eat mushroom and really like aubergine..best of all bbq slices.
Not OCD about keeping underwear here. I went to M&S in March and bought lots of new undergarments. Threw out older stuff. Brought the last of the new stuff into use today.
If OH decides underwear is looking past its best, he throws it out when he is doing the laundry, and has once snipped in half the straps of a bra that I was wearing but was a bit scruffy in his opinion.
Inspired by LiR I finally got around to clearing out the chest of drawers...four large carrier bags of stuff went to the charity shop yesterday. I was very brave and let OH help with the decision making on what should go...so more went than if I had done the task alone.
Have had a lovely day..we all went to West Wittering this morning and played with the dog in the sea, the weather had not looked promising..warm but quite cloudy. It was glorious at the beach. Home by 2.30 pm and then OH and I went off for dinner at SiLs.0 -

 DD1 + Google
DD1 played with her tablet and set up a lock screen pattern
Which she promptly forgot
Should be able to sort by clicking forgotten and entering gmail and password - accept tablet doesn't accept this.
Should still be able to sort it via setting password rather than gesture screen lock via online google device manager. Online device manager does work as it can pick up the tablet location and make it 'ring' but will the set screen lock password do anything? Of course not.
So now it looks like factory reset is the only option
Plus of course several hours of my life that I won't get back.
And even worse Germany have scored in the footieI think....0 -
... played with the dog in the sea....
Glad you had a nice time.
I don't actually know where you live, but if it's near there I didn't think you were that far away from here. I thought, say, that if I went to Ikea and you were there too we might have travelled similar distances.
Edit: Looking at your link, if you're near there, then my guestimation wasn't as far adrift as I thought. Looks like you'd be closer to Ikea than me.0 -

Worse still, that book is a work of FICTION. It is a NOVEL first published in 1995.
Not like the daily mail to get much wrong though eh?I have a Henry vacuum. Most of the downstairs is wood and upstairs carpet, useful that you don't have to faff around adjusting for different heights.
Thick carpets new jelly need better than whatever I have. I'm being persuaded by dysons at the moment, but that'll be january sales I guess. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Hope that comes across in the friendly way it is meant.
Thanks lemonjelly - and everyone else who replied. Quite embarrassed really
It's all true. And I don't have a problem with it. But I'm generally not beating myself up about it - a lot of it is tongue-in-cheek. And esp since I invited myself round to PNs, I'd been hoping to reassure her that I can be (not always) very low maintenance so having me to stay over when there isn't a bed/ there are boxes everywhere as it's the day after moving wouldn't be a problem.
And I think we proved it was far from a problem.
As for the post you quoted, PN - I wasn't exactly dressed to impress at any point this weekend was I? :rotfl:
I was ok for about 10 mins last night, then we decided we couldn't be bothered to leave the house so I put my joggers on again. Classy :cool:Sadly, they haven't yet cured my character flaws, my inclination to be lazy, or my procrastination habit. I suppose that would be a bit much to expect from a vitamin injection, though.
Sounds like good progress though - hope it continues to help you to feel better and better.lemonjelly wrote: »Eyes are my biggest weakness.
I've always "pictured" Nikkster as having a beautiful laugh...
I had a very red eye yesterday - I managed to squirt super-concentrated washing up liquid in my eyeSo I had to throw away a contact lens and spend a couple of hours looking out of one eye only :rotfl:
PN has made me laugh and smile plenty of times this weekend
Not sure about a beautiful laugh - I've been told I've got quite a dirty laugh.0
