Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone. I made a list of places to try, and started with the ones where it's easy to park, in order of how far away they are. Drew a blank at Tesco, but got one at Asda.A very long time ago, before there were Nice People, a nice person came over and looked after the Generalissimos for Mrs Generali as she had PND.
I'll never forget that act of kindness.
Likewise, a few years ago there were nice people who cooked meals for my family after "the accident" and helped me clear LNE's house in a hurry (and over Christmas to boot). I will never forget either.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Chances are your guest will be even less presentable than you are
And yes, they will have spent the day at work looking like that.
If you keep putting yourself down, someone, even worse yourself, might start believing it is true. That would be a shame.
I think you're a cracking person, who I do hope to meet at a NP meet up one day, even only to say what a cracker you are. Seeing you being negative about yourself can be a little upsetting sometimes, in a way.
Hope that comes across in the friendly way it is meant. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Got a good letter this week.
Having made 2 overpayments, & 1 mortgage payment, the mortgage is now under £100k.
Step 1 taken....It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

We've never met, but through your posts (& the occasional pm we've exchanged) you're a lovely person, with a heart of gold. Please be nicer about what a great person you are if possible.

I think he looks fab. The red really suits him. He definitely gets his looks from his mum!
Hope he has a great time tonight
Another thumbs up for the red from me!I know. I went into some sort of melt down which I've never properly come out of honestly.
Hmmmm. Hope you do come out of it soon. Is there anything we can do to make life easier for you?lemonjelly wrote: »I did similar. My clubs were getting on, so I asked my folks for a new set for christmas. In mse style, we waited til the january sales. However that left me with the original set (which I had to buy off my dad many years ago).
I have a friend who has talked of getting a set of clubs for ages, but can't afford it, for a number of reasons. Dad also had a clear out & supplied a collection of balls, tees etc, & even a bag.
The lot was given to friend for free.
Someone gave us a full size trampoline just as my kids were growing out of their toddler size one. I gave the toddler size one to a friend with younger kids, and asked him please to give it away for free when his own kids grew out of it.
Think these injections are beginning to have a bit of an effect. I got some stuff done yesterday - not masses, but some - and got round Asda with DD without feeling irritated with her for making the process take longer.
Sadly, they haven't yet cured my character flaws, my inclination to be lazy, or my procrastination habit. I suppose that would be a bit much to expect from a vitamin injection, though.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? I deliberately stayed quiet as, for me, it's just a question of walking down a street..... loads of bucket/spade and beach shops round here..... but you didn't need to hear that as it's not helpful0
