Had two texts from Nikkster .... I missed the first one as I wasn't in the room ..... that one gave me one last chance to cancel.
The next text was to say she was on her way, about 30 minutes ago.
Texting is hard..... if it wasn't hard then I'd have replied to the first one: if you think you can get out of driving over here when I've spent the last two days doing more work than I'd have done if I'd been left alone (to do nothing) ... then you've got another think coming0 -

Every cloud has a silver lining; friend tells me that I won't want to shop and cook dinner after that journey, so we are invited out.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I've got a virtually brand new one.... I've also bought a pump for it (had borrowed a pump)... unfortunately, when I unboxed the pump it needs batteries.... but, soon, one day, I will open the box that contains the borrowed footpump (that I had intended on giving back this week, but will retain a little longer now).0 -

Nikkster's probably discovering about now that Friday night traffic heading for the seaside is ... endless. Having said that, it's better to arrive, on a Friday, and wake up at the destination, than to get yourself into your car on the Saturday for the same trip.
Edit: (7:09) I hate waiting .... Nikkster said MrG said the journey is 3 hours 40 minutes... I checked and just town to town it tells me 2 hours 30 minutes, so the extra time must be the difference between the town and a specific postcode. It's been 2 hours 50 minutes since the text... so now I'm into "pacing about mode". Chippy shuts at 8pm ... so that might not be a choice tonight.
Edit: (7:40) ... did I mention ....

Have a lovely night you two.
Traffic coming sw can be frightful on Fridays at that time. It used to take us to old house 1:40/5 ish then started to take 5 hours leaving at that time. Horrid. Here we have more choice, but the route south to here is now lawned over for some tourist thingy, so we have to either rta run it or over shoot. As we're already dodging a big nature reserve seems a bit pants. Road here actually takes a bit longer than last place even though closer, but has more options, a north route, a south route, and an alternative options if desperate. Trains are super better here. Found a new split ticket way for a peak ticket for me ( not DH who splits another way on another train that I would get) that takes twenty quid off my price...if I ever do it!0 -

I'm guessing the person on that call hasn't done the mandatory Civil Service "Protecting Information" e-Learning, then  :rotfl:Years ago, a mate had taken up golf a while earlier and he gave me his old clubs. He said to me, "If you use 'em, keep 'em. If you don't, make sure you pass them on. No charge".
My first digital camera was given to me on the same premise. I think I was the 3rd or 4th owner :TPasturesNew wrote: »

And was also standing well out of the "basic common sense" queue, too.........much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
