    Hi Pastures,

My water meter is outside the house under a very small cover. It's on the pavement (public) before it comes into my property. This was built in the 1990s, so I don't know if yours is similar. Just in case I wasn't sure what it was, it says water on it for good measure. Hopefully this will help:

Maybe it'll be unearthed at the weekend.... weeds have overtaken the path.... and I've not been out to "the street" as there's no reason to ever go there.... it's an odd location/position/access.... and I don't want to run out there now for a peek as it means running past the windows of others who will be sitting, staring, saying "there's the new neighbour .... whatEVER is she doing???"

I'm about to have my first house guest ... ever..... and now you're all scaring me with big visits :)

I guess, it'd have to be next year at the earliest.... too much to get sorted here really.

And PN's first ever (wow- privilege!) house guest might put her off ever having anyone round ever again

It's very frustrating. I could resolve the washing machine problem in moments.

Glad you're in and you are coming to like the place pn. Ibuprofen for your back should help.

Don't worry, they'll soon be saying 'that new neighbour, she hangs around with some rough sorts doesn't she' :D

Casual ( well working round the place) shorts. He seriously would wear speedos and a tool belt but I prefer the idea of 1970s ( ?) short shorts. Given the choice. I'm not sure either are going to work for him but....you know....

Sports shop. Jogging shorts (big woman ones?) tend to the short side or can at least. AFL (Aussie Rules) players wesr remarkably short shorts.

I suspect there's somebody worse than me .... somebody's flying an England flag from their bedroom window!

Oh, I wouldn't. To any one I. A 'normal' house it still looks like a pit of despair :rotfl:

It just looks better to me.

RP came back early and was peeved when I said no it was not some where suitcases could be stored as its going to be a dining room. RP said, well, not now, and I said, ' why not?'

And I kind of mean it too.

Fed up of dumping grounds in the house. We have BARNs devoted to that kinda carp ATM.

For now :A. Give me time. Give me time. Its ALL going. all of it. Dog beds, cat beds, sheets from the sixties and seventies, even, I think, my vintage clothes. Out, out, out. I expect to get rid of dog dogs sniffer chair in autumn too.

You could aslo store the RP in a barn ;)

DD has just remembered that she needs a beach ball for tomorrow evening. Our last one came from Waitrose ages and ages ago, but it has burst and last time we were there they weren't selling them any more. Any suggestions of the kinds of places we should go tomorrow looking to see if anyone's got them in? I've already tried Argos but they don't sell them.

    Thanks.

Poundland. They'll have a summer toy selection. Sorry if I'm late to the party.

Also, LIR, I'm thinking of sports shops or specialist running shops for eighties style running shorts a la Seb Coe. Speedos and a tool belt sounds brilliant though. Why not :rotfl:

I remember my friends dad had seventies style swimming trunks. They were brown and orange striped. I'm sure they're back in fashion - maybe even the high street mens shops would have that kind of swim wear.

My mum uses an England flag as a blind in one of the bathroom windows:o. I think it was free from some kind of downmarket newspaper or sports shop :o:o

She sometimes hangs them out of the window when there is a sporting thing going on. She doesn't even follow sport. She mainly does it to lower the tone :rotfl:

Riff raff. She was going to give me a flag for my bathroom window. I politely declined.

So pleased that you've got yourself moved, PN, even if the BB isn't yet sorted.

I love the way you describe it as being really light. How fab. :D

Have a great weekend with Nikkster :T
