    W9R3 done! I have graduated!

It was probably my worst run, I didn't even manage 2 miles, but I have added strength training to my regime this week, my abs and arms feel like lead!

I'm hoping to do run 1 of 5 to 10k on Saturday.
  • well done gonzo - it won't be long until you consider 5k a short run!

Thanks! And I realised I did a good run, my gps gave up the ghost half way through my run! Looking forward to Saturday now.

Hi all. Just started this week in the hopes that I'll get motivated enough to continue when the weather starts to turn.
Any advice on what to wear that's cheap when it's cold and/or raining? I am a wuss!

I find shorts and t-shirt fine for running most of the year. I switch to long sleeves when it's sub-zero and maybe add running gloves if it's also windy and snowing. Rain is nice. Keeps you cool. If you try to keep it off you with a waterproof running jacket, you'll probably just end up sweaty instead.

If you get cold you can always run faster.

Nice thought, but I probably can't. :rotfl:

Yeah i wear the same running stuff all year, sometimes a hoody too, but usually I get super hot.

Just completed Run1 of 5to10k training, 4.10 miles!
  • you are better to get some clothing actually designed for running rather than wearing hoodies or joggers when its cold. a pair of running tights and long sleeve compression top are much lighter and keep you nice and warm. you can pick these up cheap from places like sports direct as proper running shops are quite expensive. put a lightweight running jacket over and you are set for the winter.
