most 'dedicated' running shops will offer free gait analysis - if you have a budget just tell them you can only spend £x, plenty of places have previous years models which they can offer at a reduced price versus the latest fancy shoes

Appreciate it guys and I will bare it in mind ~ I know a lot of you are very pro gait running shoes (It was me that started the thread about the best running trainers a few weeks back) but I literally don't have the money right now.

We're budgeting ourselves to £40 a week and my son needs new shoes first :-)

Well I am back from France and managed to complete weeks three and four whilst there. Did day one of week five last night and really struggled- does anyone else find that st this point it starts to step up really quickly?
Somehow it was much easier to run whilst on holiday!

it's sometime since i did it but if i recall most people find week 5 a step up, that's the week where they chuck in a 20 minute non stop run isn't it?

I ran 5k on an track with my mate a couple of weeks ago - after a game of football too. My legs I slightly strained my quads during the run, it was bizzare.

Today I completed week 1 and I found it quite ok. At the end of the 8 1min runs I felt I could do a couple more but not sure how it'll be when they become longer. If I feel brave I may crack on with week 2 tomorrow evening. Also this sounds quite wimpy but I found it really tiring running in a bit of wind today!

Glad it's not just me that found week 5 hard, planning the day 2 tonight but trying a new route as I realised that the route on Tuesday was mainly uphill which wouldn't have helped. Much preferred running on holiday on the morning but no way I can do that at home as hubby leaves for work at 6aam!

I haven't run since Sunday!! I really struggled with motivation this week. I have a run scheduled for Sunday and I'm determined not to give up, I've come too far. So I'm going to aim to do W9R1, and complete C25k next week!!

I can't get to my local one :-( I've looked into them, they're on Sunday's around here and because my husband works Sunday mornings I have no car to get there and there is no public transport!

He starts at 6am, so can't even get dropped off on his way!
