Really good run this morning. Repeated w5d1 as really struggled with it a few days ago and found it much better. Have decided that I'm going to repeat each of this weeks runs twice as it seems to step up wuitequicklyand then see how I do.

Getcarter - I sometimes pause and have a quick stretch- seems to help. Always stretch st end too.

If you have managed c25k in 8 or 9 weeks, 5 to 10k is a breeze. you will do it

if you follow the program barring injury, yes i would think it's very likely

I shall let you know how I get on! 1 more 30 minute run planned, and will start the 10k program on Saturday.
  • Arghhhh!! I really want to do this running thing but honestly....

I don't know if anyone read my other thread about calf pain? Well since I got gait analysed and got some new trainers that has gone away to a certain extent. My archs of my foot hurt a bit but I think that's just my foot getting used to the fact that its being held up a bit more now.

Anyway I digress, I've been doing the c25k on a treadmill at home but with my new trainers and the fact that I'm on week 8 and I can run for a couple of miles approx. 20 mins I thought I'd love to have a go at running out side. So this morning I got up and I managed half a mile before I gave up and walked back home and finished my run on the treadmill.

Running outside is a lot harder than I thought it would be. I've done the c25k on a treadmill, do I need to repeat the programme for pavement running?

I think you should start to run outside but not start from the beginning, but go back maybe 2 weeks on the c25k

I agree, go back a little way but not right from the start and start doing some running outside. Maybe mix running outside and on your treadmill?

I've moved to week 3! It doesn't seem as much of a jump, I think maybe I've been taking it a bit easy for the first couple of runs and that's why, so I'm going to try to run it a bit faster next time I go.
  • I went out this morning and tried but my handstring hurt so much I just gave up and walked....just spent out on some nice new trainers too.
  • Week 3, run 3 just completed.

I found it a real step up from week 2. Had a couple of false starts where I gave up in the last minute of the run. Went back to week 1 for a couple of days, then just did it :j

Not looking forward to week 4...
