New look Forum for non-logged in visitors

I felt like I had been transported into a movie interrogation with a bright light shining directly into my eyes. The sensation was both physically and psychologically uncomfortable. It was disorientating. I struggled to navigate through the threads, see who posted what, whose posts were quoted or where one post ended and another began.
However, when I grabbed my browser window and docked it to the right hand side of my screen so that it took up only 50% of the width, it actually looked ok - a lot of the white space disappeared, it was much easier to read the text of posts and strangely the boundaries between posts were a bit easier to distinguish (although they were still not as clear as they should be). So if this new look becomes compulsory, I think I'll be able to cope by opening MSE in a narrow browser window.0 -
Well it looks like the old look is back. So they got rid of it.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Horrid!
After trying it for a while, I logged out and waited til today to come back on site.
If this new format goes ahead, I'm afraid it's Bye Bye MSE for me.
Why can't good things be left alone. sighs....0 -
Thank goodness ! I thought it was only me. I know that I am averse to change but really! There are 3 sites I spend most of my time on. One changed a couple of weeks ago and is now a total loss. The other hasn't changed at all yet , thankfully. When I browsed on here on Monday I thought my computer was throwing a wobbly - really awful. Then to crown it all I couldn't even log in. Yes my fault entirely because I couldn't remember the new password I had to do because my old one wasn't secure enough ( my computer didn't recognise the new site so wouldn't populate it automatically). So even ignoring all the above I really hope they don't go ahead because it looks awful. If this had been how it looked all those years ago when I first joined ( after a few months of just reading) then I would never have joined.0

Just hoping we'll be given the choice of which version we want to useUm, no, it was only a two day test, the fact it's gone now was planned, has no bearing whatsoever on whether it will be implemented permanently
The current MSE thinking (so it seems) on whether you will be allowed to continue with the old version (or one of them anyway) when they implement the new system.

Sure.
It says :MSE_Andrea wrote: »Hi Mandelbrot. For the time being existing forum members (i.e., they join the forum before the new version goes live) will have the ability to revert back to the old version but we won't be providing support for it and can't promise we'll be keeping it permanently.0
