OMG, I wondered what had happend.
I think it looks awful. Far too spread out, and far too much empty white space to navigate around.
Tied to log in and even had trouble finding the login field/button, then I found it, tiny little thing on the LHS of the screen. Even pressing the "login & post button" didn't help.
When I did finally get to the login page, it took up the entire screen
I sincerely hope it's not signs of things to come, or if it is, that it is significantly improved before proper launch.
In the meantime, I'm sure it will put off many newbie viewers.

I completely agree. It's horrendous!. . .I did not speak out
Then they came for me

Have to agree - far too much space, seemed to be scrolling for a long time to get to the bottom of the forum. Hope it's just formatting issues?0

Well, if the idea of the new look was designed to prevent non registered members from viewing the forums, I think that the plan has succeeded.
Probably the worst formatted forum I think I have ever seen.0 -
It would appear a lot of the issues relate to how the page is displayed in IE, where the formatting is attrocious.
e.g. in my OP above, I wondered what had happened to the first few words ... and then I found them at the top RHS of the post
Also in IE, the page needs to be scrolled left to right to see the whole thing, rather than being sized to the screen.
I've now checked it out in Firefox where it does seem marginally better.
e.g. no scrolling from Left to Right required - you just can't see the RHS of the screen at all
e.g. The News, Blogg or Twitter feeds.0 -
I have to agree...
long time and very regular user of the site..
tend not to log in unless I want to post..
If this is the future.. then its unlikely I will visit as much.. or if at all..
Whoever is in charge of web design.. "have a word!"...The only place where success comes before work is the dictionary…

I almost look forward to getting home & seeing if I can "unhitch" it on the iPad. (Hurrah for Opera.) It's a very In Your Face signon, which I do not find attractive & am unconvinced is essential.
If that's the future, well, I'll stumble through the front end to get to the familiar back, but if you change the back as well... Sometimes progress does not mean Remorseless Going Forwards.
Plus some but not all posts manage to stick on one screen width & others do not. Which meakes it even less easy to read at the office.0 -
I hate it,really hope they do not keep the new format, very off putting and hard to navigate. It is fine as it is please leave it alone!!0
