I don't mind the way it looks actually. ( ipad user)
But I have a practical problem I have emailed Mse towers about, and it wonder if any one else is going to suffer?
I have neurological problems, scrolling fast is always a bit dodgy for me, but the very harsh white against dark txt makes it 'flash'. This will cause me significant difficulty. I wouldn't be surprised if any of the people who have tested and given initial feed back weren't sufferers of 'serious' neurological issues but I'd expect it to trigger pretty normal migraines too? If its just me then that's fine, I'll find another grey corner of the Internet or learn to scroll slower or something.0 -
I'm also of the opinion that if something isn't broken, don't try to fix it. The new style is blummin awful! Far too white and bright (I had to turn down the screen brightness further as I have photosensitivity).
The constant invitation to sign up to the weekly newsletter is really annoying. Is it necessary to have it on every page of a thread, and at both top and bottom of the page?
Usernames are not clear - it was so much easier to see who had posted when their name was on the left hand side, along with all other relevant information. Now it's all over the place.
Signatures are not clearly separated from the posts, and if too long, you have to click the arrow to read the rest.
Formatting is poor.
Even the board guides are not impressed.
MSE Towers, please listen to those of us posting our comments. There was nothing wrong with the previous format. It may have looked slightly dated, but it was easy to navigate, easy to read, and not startlingly bright!0 -
MSE Andrea! thanks for thanking to acknowledge my post, I never know how seriously feedback is taken.0

The only good thing about this god-awful new layout - it may put the kitchen sellers and black magic love potion vendors off :rotfl: They won't be able to find out where on earth you sign up !
Seriously though, it really is dreadful. I, like a lot of members, am stuck with whatever browser my company dictates when browsing at work ( only at lunchtime, obviously !! ). And I often like to browse as a non-member, just out of interest, and only log on when I want to make a post. It ain't broke, please don't try and fix it.0 -
can anyone tell me how to find sub forums when logged out?
for example, if i go to Competitions i can only see the main comps board, not the sub forums0 -

it is absolutely awful for me with sight problems and dyslexia. all i can see is a mass of white0 -
Really dreadful and doesn't scroll properly on my BlackBerry.0

I have to agree with most people, it is awful.
It is much too bright and not something I can read for very long.
As others have said "If it aint broke........"0 -
it's just a mish mash of nothingness ,everthing isn't easy on the eye .it's hard to tell who's written what , where each post ends , if you're looking for a certain post it's going to take ages to find
the old style everything was obvious, you could see each post, who posted it ,the thanks button etc, it was/is straight forward and easy to use
a BIG NON from me0 -
also, when i was using my phone earlier i could only read the first page of a thread, then had to click 'next page', there's no page numbers to 'jump' to so on a thread that has loaaaads of pages how would it work? no 1 is going to sit there clicking 'next page' until they get to page 100+0
