New look Forum for non-logged in visitors

just to say that the new format is awful on an iPhone - it cant have been seriously designed for a mobile device

I'm accessing on a mobile and the most annoying thing for me is that you cant go automatically to a specific page on a thread to read updates, meaning you have to click on next page until you get the end. Unless of course I'm missing something?!

I actually quite like the new layout. A little bit of extra colour wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing but other than that it's a nice clean, modern layout.

My only real gripe is that I normally stay permanently logged into the site and since logging out (purely to see the new layout!), I am unable to stay logged in when I leave the site as the 'remember me' box is missing so I'm forced to log in each time.

Martin what are you let happening on YOUR and our site?

As a long time member and contributer to the MSE forum,
Martin as founder creattor and editor in chief of MSE I beg you please stop the waste of money going into the new design and just stop it,

It looks cheap, nasty, crap, more like a spam site and just plain bloody awful and could hurt peoples medical conditions (it hurt my eyes and started giving me a headache)

The MSE Forum is a different entity to the MSE main site,
it's probably where most of the money saving tips come from, listen to the members,

Even after all the points raised on the Alpha test threads (that seem to have been ignored)
you still went ahead, basically as it was – Why?

In no particular order a few things I don't like on the new design

Very unpleasent on the eye
It's painfull to look at, for any length of time
To much bright white
Very hard to follow
Difficult to navigate
Waste of space
Signitures not visible
Very bad use of colours
MSE is, MSE Green (not blue)
Buttons not easily visable
OP on every page
Banners on every page
Not able to go to Sub Boards
No user name in the left hand info panel (on a post)
Lack of info in the left hand info panel (on a post )
Avaters in a cicle?
To much scrolling down a page

It is as bad as that from a few years ago
I think the thread was something like “Few minor changes that you might not notice …...(it was something like that). that you changed after you listened to the forum members , you changed back,

Please Martin and MSE team ditch this update, and the people that talked Martin into it.


Its the worst forum layout design and I have ever seen and Iv'e seen some very bad ones:eek:

Oh wow, isn't that new design just vile. Looks like someone let their kids loose with the crayons... ...just before they vomited up their Haribo all over it. Then removed any hint of usability. Genuinely the worst design I've seen for ANY forum, let alone one with as big a user base as this one!

They've probably spent so much money in the redesign that they feel there's no alternative but to go ahead.

Idon't like it at all. I'm partially sighted and it made it far harder to read. All the white space made it much worse. I read many times each day , and have done for about 8 or 9 years, but rarely log in as it's too hard for me to see to do it now. Even worse was not being able to go to a specific page on a post.
