New look Forum for non-logged in visitors

I am no fan of it on the fullsize monitor, I can't see a thing on the ipad in the usual browser (it got stuck during an earlier test) & on the phone it is GRUESOME. I do not want to see the first post every new page, and can I see where to stop it? No.

Thank you for *trying* but in all honesty, dear MSE Towers, I could figure out the wicked old ways on my phone just fine. Now I'm snarling & at risk of flinging the device in sundry directions. None of which will be covered by my insurance, so it isn't MSE anymore.

The new forum look is disastrous - the sign up to the email banner keeps popping up, the original post at the top of each thread page is intrusive, the script is small and there's too much white space.

I get it, It's for the tabletteers, iPhoners, Androids and lumers who need space to swipe without accidentally hitting something they don't want to, but lummee it's hard to read.

I hate it!! Somebody earlier said it hurt their eyes and I agree. Too much white space, massive gaps and scrolling.

I don't normally log in when I'm at work as it's usually just a quick browse, but I had to today just to be able to read something.

I don't mind change when it's for the good, but this just seems a step backwards.

Totally agree. It's horrendous. I sent feedback (as requested) to that effect yesterday. It's so bad, I'm not sure I could be bothered to use it.

As ever, the question is "why?". What is the intended benefit? Style over substance?

Agree with everyone else - not a fan of the new format at all. Too much white space and text in threads does not display correctly in my browser. I couldn't find the option easily to log in, or to move pages once in a thread.

PLEASE do not roll this out - I will have to give up on visiting a very useful website otherwise!

The new design is awful, might be refinable into a selectable skin or something but please not by default. At first I thought Chrome was playing up and not loading the site properly. It's even worse here where I have to use IE.

The white space made me feel sick.

Interesting to see that the Marriages forum's board image includes pictures of black American kids eating watermelon. Good job we don't fall for racial stereotypes these days but why do I suddenly want to go out and get some fried chicken?

If this is still a predominately British site, why not at least make it more British - Obese bloke with Greggs pasty dripping grease down his beer gut, Heavily tattooed woman smoking a fag outside Primark, maybe?

Although I really think MSE needs a mobile version forum and a mobile version of the site the trial look is horrendous!!!!

Only worked out how to log on by looking at this thread!

Been a regular poster for 7 years and would be lost without the forums, please do not change it to this!!! But a mobile version yes please and ASAP!

This is the best image I could find for the Marriages Board. I couldn't find one that said "Abandon hope all men who enter here".

I am visually impaired find it difficult to read the font (whatever it is its a bit pale) on such a white background, I usually browse logged out and log in if necessary to respond reply. If the white background remains I wont be browsing or logging in at all.. its really not a good look! Oh and its even more horrendous on mobile I tried
