What forum software is this anyway? I don't think it's V Bulletin like the old forum and this new forum looks HORRIBLE to be honest!

Oh just noticed when I log in the old look forum is back.
But when I log out the new look displays. How stupid.

Apart from the terrible upgrade the HotUKDeals website did a few years ago, the MSE redesign has to be the worst I have had the misfortune to strain my eyes on.
I do not like to log in just to browse the site for a few minutes each day. Complete waste of money and time upgrading as there was very little wrong with the old one.

I think the admins are using V Bulletin 5 because the old theme is still there while you are logged in. But I agree that the new lok is horrible. There is no color or nothing, just a boring white background. In fact it is too much for the eyes as another member said and looks very clinical.
    Absolutely horrible.
Get rid of this theme and go back to the old the or Phpbb.

I like it. It looks really clean and fresh.

It also appears to restrict signatures to two lines. Possibly not a bad thing as some people's are long than most of the forum posts!

No. It is still vBulletin 3.8.7 underneath.

    (a) Not having a New Posts button was annoying

    (b) Also sub forums list didn't always appear i.e. competition and IWIWIW (mobile devices)

    (c) Too Bright - I needed sun glasses

I appreciate that may have come across as somewhat hypocritical considering mine is quite meaty! I was referring to the few I've seen that look more like a journal entry with details of every debtor and every payment made, but in fairness they are few and far between. At least we don't have sparkly images and large gifs allowed in sigs that do nothing but bog down the forum loading times.

But anyway. On topic, I much prefer the overall 'cleaner' look of the new forum, and if sigs were reduced or even abolished in the 'new' forum I wouldn't be too fussed either way :D

It had too much empty space making it hard to quickly read & navigate, along with poor font & colour choice. This is a text based forum so being able to read text is important! I didn't stay long enough to try out the functionality because it actually hurt my eyes...
