I have a meeting this morning so I can't cover up and keep warm in jeans so today's the first day for tights!!:( I'm wearing a navy jersey dress with navy opaques and will wear a navy cardigan and coloured scarf when I go out too.

On the subject of moisturisers: I'm using Aldi's Lacura Expert at the moment. It's lovely and thick and creamy. I'm fortunate that my skin seems to be perfectly happy with these cheap brands. At about £3-4 a jar it's worth a try and if it doesn't suit you can use it up on your knees, feet and elbows!

Sorry to hear about all the ailments and intolerances. I've been following the SW plan for about four years now and that seems healthy enough for me. The good thing about SW is that all the things we know should be 'treats' (alcohol, crisps, chocolate, cakes etc) are in strict moderation.

As its rained almost every day since I got back from Istanbul, my plans for some walking have gone out of the window. But it's still in my mind so not totally forgotten.;)

We went down to one car too rose when I gave up full time work. We gave it six months and realised that we really didn't need two. We're fortunate that we live on a bus route close to the city centre so we can manage fine working round each others commitments. We said that if either of us was stupid enough to get a full time job again we could always buy another car if we needed it.:rotfl:

    Back soon.:)

Another one here whose body needs a total re-boot:rotfl: IBS, Acid Reflux, no appetite, not enough energy, aches and pains, on reading up, it seems that Adrenals may be causing some of the symptoms. I strictly ration bread and sugar and am thinking I should try GF, but cannot face it at the moment, not helped by having a rather well stocked larder to get through.

Short term aim is to eat only light and easily digested meals with some fruit and veg for health, but hopefully not too much fibre. Make a schedule for additional nutrients (don't absorb well enough to do without) and start with a very few essentials and gradually add in things for joints and to help my B12 deficiency over time.

Bit of a pain cooking differently for OH, but want to run freezer down for de-frosting, so needs must. He was extremely happy with the perfickly cooked lamb chops yesterday, so worth it really.

Winter seems to have come in too quickly and work needed in garden, but too cold and wet. I am determined to stay positive and grateful for what I have and what I can do (an awful lot really) and am working at replacing any negative thought with a more positive one:D

Have a good day everyone and be kind to yourselves in every way.:A

Had a dreadful night and really didnt want to do anything today but as it was DS2s day off I didn't want to waste the day. So...we went out and spent some money:::rotfl: We sourced the carpet, just a basic mid range oatmeal coloured Berber. I prefer wooden floors but it would cost far too much so we are just going for a neutral carpet. We won't see that much off it anyway because we will be putting rugs on top.

Cue the lovely deep plum rug and lampshades I bought today....
gorgeous colour if I say so myself. I saw some lovely curtains but they were far too expensive so the hunt is on for a cheaper version.

This afternoon I have been busy stripping ...

    Paint that is.:rotfl:

I have been hand stripping umpteen layers off the staircase. It's been a marathon but today I finally finished it. Wahoo. I need to give myself a nice manicure tonight, whilst I watch the Apprentice.

So all in all it turned into a nice day.

LL I love the sound of your lampshades and rug -plum is a great colour!

I am packing for a work night away - normally I'd take a bath bomb and face mask so I could have a relaxing bath, but I'm pretty sure last time I stayed there the rooms only had showers:(

I've made a major breakthrough with my clothes shopping today - I drove past Cheshire Oaks and didn't stop! I actually found myself thinking "but I don't NEED anything..." - project 333 is good for my bank balance!

I've also put a load of things onto ebay over the past few days - it was really embarrassing, boots that I bought last year that I've only worn once, clothes which still have the tags on. I must have spent a fortune on stuff that I didn't want/need, and it didn't make me happy. Hopefully some of it will sell and the rest will be sent straight to the charity shop :)
  • Hi Betty is that the outlet? I was thinking of heading down for a few nights to go as it has an ugg store. Is it a good visit.

LL thank you for sharing your experience and thoughts. You are always so kind in offering help, I really appreciate it.

I love the sound of the plum, sounds gorgeous.

Hope everyone is okay and thinking about everyone who needs a hug x
  • Hi sweetcheeks - yes it's the outlet! It's often very good (obviously depending on what's in though) so definitely worth a visit :)
  • It's a fair drive but might be nice for a Christmas shop visit... Thank you Betty :)

Not much fabbing here lately as I've had one cold, started to mend, got another! Had no energy, a bright red nose and useless brain for weeks :rotfl:
Feeling much better now, have put most of my summer clothes away and sorted out all my jeans and jumpers etc., don't need to buy much at all :)
Did buy a coat from Asd@ though because mum really wanted my old one (I say old, it was new last winter) "when you've finished with it"and she's 84 and I couldn't see a reason not to just let her have it :rotfl:
Get well soon to all the poorly folks x

Get well soon to you too RosyQ, I hope that we will all soon be :j:j:j:j:j:j:j

Needed a few things from shops today, so went in on bus, ambled length of town and then back home, total of about 1 mile and arrived home absolutely whacked, these bugs do seem to zap the energy:(

I have been welded to my armchair, under heated throw, for last hour and half, need to go to bathroom so had better move.

That reminds me of another :o:eek: side effect of this cold, a horrid cough, I have had so many near misses that I have bought myself my first ever pack of T*na Lady:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Where are all the fabulous ladies?? I hope you are all out leading exciting and fabulous lives!

Today was a bit of a wakeup call for me. I was out with a good friend and while chatting she tactfully mentioned a few things about me that she thought needed a bit of polish. Harsh you may think but I am blessed with friends who are honest and tell me what I need to hear not just what I want to hear. I thought it was brave of her and has given me food for thought.

Life here is very exciting at the moment and full of potential. I have decided to grasp every opportunity and to stop thinking "what if" and to start making my dreams reality. Oh ladies I am all fired up and ready for adventure :D
