Orange is the new black!!! Orange converse trainers sound fab.

Welcome newbies. Lovely to have you aboard the fab express:D

I saw the most attractive 50 plus lady today. Simple sixties style shift dress in yes ......orange. She had a nice tan lovely shiny dark shoulder length hair, simple gold coloured necklace and gorgeous orange and purple strappy sandals with a matching orange and purple bangle. Simple make up. She looked stunning - almost like Jackie O...

I wish I could have taken a photo for you. never be afraid to use colour. Who wants to be bland, beige and boring:eek:

And what did I look like.....

A right scruff because I hAd just done a trip with a car load of rubbish for the tip and was on my way to Pilates....

    Must try harder:rotfl:

Nearly finished moving my stuff over to the new house. Still plaster dust everywhere but once I've given the bungalow a final clean then I can turn my attention to this place.

I'll lick it into shape - can't wait to start up cycling furniture etc, choosing fabrics and accessories.

OH really struggling the last couple of days with swallowing. He couldn't face lunch today so I gave him a naughty creamy desert. I keep a few treats in a mini fridge that I have installed in his room. It took him 30 Minutes to manage it

Is the start of his final decline I wonder. Only time will tell, however once someone stops eating that is usually the beginning of the end.

Today I was sorting out some old paperwork. I found a letter he wrote me many years ago when he was working away from home. He has only ever written me one love letter so I shall definitely be hanging on to that.:D

I'm steadily decluttering and have decided to buy a nice memory box for all my special treasures. The letter will have pride of place......

I'm currently being stalked by a cat. Would love to keep her/him but I'm so allergic it's just not possible. Poor thing has been abandoned and is clearly starving. We are feeding it for a while but cannot let it into the house. If no one claims it we will have to take it to the shelter. It's all I can do. Such a sweet little thing too.

Time for a cuppa and a potter round the garden to harvest some raspberries.

I have a new boyfriend. His name is Gabriel, he's blond, blue eyed, lightly tanned and gorgeous. He adores me. Every time I go into the garden he chats away to me. Trouble is he only speaks Lithuanian so I can't understand a word he says, although I've taught him hello and raspberries. He's two years old ;)

    Got you going there:rotfl::rotfl:

Welcome VJsmum :) I am impressed by your weight loss. I am really struggling with the whole giving up pasta/bread thing. I don't actually miss them as such, but I find them hard to substitute. Work lunches etc feel a real struggle. I love homemade soup & salad, but find by the end of the teaching day I am really hungry. Then I eat rubbish. I am a huge cake fan and giving that up is very hard. Maman is a very successful dieter and gives good advice on getting those extra pounds off.

LL are you getting support with your hubby's swallowing? I know this sounds strange, but I get advice from the speech & language therapists at work about swallowing issues. Not sure why, but they appear to be trained in it. It must be very emotionally hard for you when he can't eat.
Feeling very sorry for your poor wee cat. Thankfully I have no allergies and love my cat to bits, even though she shed way more hair than any other feline model that I have owned.

VJ's mum - have a fab holiday. I just love all things Italian - the food, the shops, the clothes, the furniture, the buildings, the art. It's all so stylish and sexy.......

Prudent - SALT have been very supportive and helpful. Unfortunately the loss of his swallowing reflex is just one of the symptoms of his cruel horrible illness.:(

Ps I love those doorknobs ......

yay on the converse rosyq I'm 50 and have decided to wear what I feel comfy in. Age is just a number, why should you not be allowed to wear x,y,z just because you're a certain age? As long as you look good in what ever you choose to wear it's fine I think. I have worn and would wear converse. I have bought myself some dr martens from ebay for the winter. ;) I agree about colour - love it.

LL- sorry OH is not so good.

Have had a haircut, unfortunately got rained on so not so sleek this afternoon.:rotfl: Have done my nails, eyebrows, made a serum from oils and got a bit more house fabbing done. Lets hope i can keep on top of it..

Loads of fabbing going on :j, well done to everyone and hello to all our new posters it is lovely to meet you :D

I have been making a real effort with the way I look and it has given me a wee confidence boost. A nice outfit and shiny hair each day.
Not really wearing makeup as it is too hot and I don't like to wear it every day.

Fitness is going well :D Now I do have a wee question for you all! What healthy treat do you reach for? I am on a low carb, unprocessed food eating plan and I am cutting down natural sugars too. Therefore I am stumped as to what to have when I fancy a treat :rotfl: Peanut butter has been my indulgence so far as a teaspoon of the no added sugar stuff is a bit like a sweet.

It's wine all the way for me when it comes to a treat.:o Hardly counts as healthy and probably not what you wanted to hear.

Hello all - good to hear that I'm not the only low/no/reduced carbs person here! It makes so much difference to me, although I don't lose weight unless I combine it with exercise.
I've been on holiday this week (fab weather! But now have a "farmers tan" where my t-shirts have been - I foresee strapless top wearing in the garden to try to balance it out...) so eating hasn't been the best. In a way I'm looking forward to being back at home where I can get back into routine.

I'm sorry about your husband LL - my MiL also lost her ability to swallow towards the end of her fight. It was very upsetting, especially for her as she ended up being fed through a tube and wasn't able to even have a cup of tea. Will be thinking of you.

Rummer my healthy treat is an extra green smoothie. I don't add things like the hemp, chia etc that I put in a meal replacement smoothie. I am very poor at snacking on cheese, sultanas and bread sticks. Just finished the bread sticks and will not buy any this week. I also like carrot sticks & homemade humus. Not too keen on shop humus.

SB Glad you had a good holiday :)

I haven't done as much exercise this week, so this morning I have been for a six mile cycle ride. I will sadly undo this good later on as I am meeting a friend in a cafe for a bacon roll & an earl grey tea.

Have you tried the peanut butter and banana "ice cream"?

Peel and roughly chop and banana and freeze

When frozen, leave to defrost for 10 minutes or so then use a stick blender and blend till it looks like ice cream.. You can add in a teaspoon if peanut butter, some vanilla essence, or some cocoa powder.

    It's bl00dy lovely :rotfl:
I wanna be in the room where it happens
