Evening all, afraid I have been a bad flylady :( I have done absolutely nothing on the list..oops!!! Not even sure what I can say to justify the last couple of days..today I can justify it. I started my new long term therapy early this morning and it drained me more than I realised..ugh 18 months of this FUN...NOT!!! Then another 2 years in another placement unit..woopeee doo!!! I'll never ever want to see a mental health professional again after this round of therapy...well that's the plan anyway
(((HUG))) Natty. Onwards and upwards, m'dear. I'm reliant solely on tablets to keep my MH rubbish under control; I have severe trust issues, and can't bring myself to trust therapists enough for them to be any help to me; so I really, really hope this all goes well for you. x

Elsie your dagus's are so cute, although until I saw the picture I did wonder what a dagus was when you mentioned you used your recycling for them. I was thinking it was something to do with Star Trek at one point...lol
    That'll be Tribbles, then.;)
I love animals of any sort; and those look really, really cute.:o

, I'm happy to cover for the last two weeks of the June/July Challenge, as long as Lamewolf would be willing to take PMs from me if I need her expertise and can't commit that far in advance because dog-sitting commitments come up at the last moment. She's been at this whole Forum thing for a little while longer than me and I completely bow to her seniority.
Happy to help!:o You're right, I don't want to commit to something and then be too poorly to fulfill the commitment; and I have the Hairy Hooligans immediately followed by a new-to-me guest, a Cockerpoo that fortnight. I'll be more than happy to provide you with back-up, though.
*Note to self - re-set forum controls to accept PMs*. I turned it off because I'd started getting a bunch of requests for "help" (not from peeps here, I hasten to add) that I couldn't agree to, and I'm a wimp when it comes to saying No.

Speaking of which, Lamewolf, my writerly OH was looking for another word for things witches might hang in trees to ward off 'the evils,' and I said I'd ask the only expert I know, so ... if you've got a moment ....
Do you mean something like Spell Banners? A Rune or other meaningful symbol to represent the wish or blessing is drawn or painted on a piece of paper or ribbon and hung from a tree branch. Some people also just tie a plain bit of ribbon in an appropriate colour.
Everyone has their own personal system of colours, which works well for them,so there are no hard-and-fast rules.
OK, let's give an example - suppose I had a friend who needed Strength to get through a hard time; I might inscribe a Tyr Rune (which looks a bit like an arrow pointing upwards) and ask for the blessing of Strength for that person. The "evil" being warded off in this instance being excess fear.
Or, if I wanted to just use colour, if my friend had self esteem issues, I'd use a piece of orange ribbon, orange being the colour I associate with self-confidence. This time, we're banishing self-doubt. HTH.:o
Btw, I'm not really an expert on this particular practise, as I generally use candles, but I do use colours and inscribe Runes on them.:D

Me too! I have a pad that I got in a cheapy shop (forget which -see???) that is a weekly planner. It has a section for each day plus room for a list or two. I just tear off at the end of the week for the next. And scribble the dates on. It lives on my desk and I find seeing it every day help with the retention of what's on there...
I use a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) which has the added advantage that it can be set to squeak at me to remind me to do things, where I [STRIKE]might [/STRIKE] would forget to look at a diary or pad.:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Well I ended up doing a HH nail fix as my manicure started to pop off. I'm sure sunscreen melts gel polish :( ah well. It's an excuse to have a change ;) so I'm au naturel now, just with a clear strengthening treatment.

Haven't sorted tea for kiddies, and I've to go get them soon. Might have to be pasta and meatballs... An easy one. May even sling them in the bath (kids, not meatballs) first and do food after...

It is nitty night! :rotfl: or in DS case use the nit comb to get mud out of his hair

My mum is coming again tomorrow and I've said I want to go out (not so she doesn't come, I mean for her to come too) as we just end up sat doing nothing. I know she's tired and fed up with her placement but they are going in 3 weeks and I can't lose a whole day attached to the sofa. So I'm suggesting we go to the farm shop. They have a little animal pen area so we can take DD to see the donkey and all the others, and I might purchase some of their goods. Some steak for DD maybe. There is also a garden centre nearby so we can mooch there and visit the cafe then see the guinea pigs and rabbits too :)

So tonight I will get the steam mop out, kiddies will have to help clear all the floors of their gibble, first

I also want to make a couple of little drawstring bags that will fit a water bottle in. Their drinks always get left on the floor of the plane and roll under seats, so I thought a little sleeve with a long drawstring that can hang over the seat-back tray might be an idea. Drinks always in reach, cannot roll, and can be left twisted open so the pressure change doesn't force all the liquid out (yes, I've ended up with a wet through bag full of baby milk before :/)

Right. Better go get those dirty children!

Well I had good intentions. Then got a text message from an old friend who had the afternoon off and so did I want to meet for coffee? Well there are times when other things are more important than housework. :)

So now I am behind with the paid stuff and the cleaning but hey-ho. Off to have an hour in our bedroom I think. Full day tomorrow so wont get much done then.

    Hi everyone

Well done to all those Flyladies who have been flying - especially HB for your decluttering.
Well done to all those Flyladies who, like me, have decided that sometimes there are more important things to do than flying.

I have spent the day with a friend, but did not waste the train journey time: I sat at a table and made up about 30 more greetings cards en route :)

Have cooked tea for myself and DH, made 2 phonecalls, unpacked my shopping (free shower gel for DH, bought using my old CoOp divi!) and now we're off to yet another exciting church meeting about the amalgamation of our parish with the neighbouring one

I'm quite envious of the Degus - last time we looked arounf the RSPCA they had some needing a home - but I resisted;)

    I'm slacking too ;)

I didn't steam mop the kitchen floor but I have used a bleachy cloth to wipe it over after making a cuppa, so I'm now sat in the conservatory.

Happy to report on two more than acceptable scalps ;):p and two rather clean and now happily asleep children :D

I've got a skinny cappuccino flavour muller light yoghurt. Can't decide if I like it or not :rotfl:

We only had crumpets for tea as they'd had lots to eat at school club so weren't very hungry. So I had time to sort the kitchen and they picked all the toys up that were littered downstairs.

Just remembered, I got a new peg bag in the pound shop. Mine was a plastic basket and it cracked a couple of weeks ago leaving sharp edges, so I've been looking for a new one. It's bright pink and says "keep calm and hang out" on the front :D lol

Washing is brought in and sorted through. Still haven't done my bed. Will do tonight then have a nice hot shower I think...

    Grass needs trimming again...

Honey bear, why to do want to list items for 30 days? i would suggest 7 days at the most.

Reason being if I wanted one of your items, and had to wait 30 days for auction to end, I would go else where, as I would want item quicker.

Also remember eby fees, you get 20 free listings per months, then each listing is 35p, they also take 10% of the sell price at the end in fees, PLUS 10% of the postage cost,

been to Morrisons and have filled up with petrol with my 10p off voucher. A combinations of careful shopping and wombling meant I had 3 vouchers for mum, too;)
    (a lot of wombling tbh)

Morrisons are selling boot jacks for 28p! Useful stocking filler, hamper addition or secret santa gift.

    They are like this

I might go and get a couple more...
