Sports and movies are £30 together. Sports on its own is £22 and Movies on its own is £16.

How do you work out that both together is cheaper than just one?

    Possibly they're on a deal?

I unsubscribed to both for a few months a while ago and noticed on my Sky Offers page the offer of Sky Sports and Sky Movies together for half off for six months - so that'd be £15 per month.

Yes that's the only way it's reasonable value these days.

However still wouldn't be cheaper for both than just one no matter how you look at it which was more my point.

I was thinking more that if that deal was on offer (of course I don't know whether they're even on a deal, they could just have their sums very wrong as has been suggested) then it is cheaper in the short term than taking either Movies or Sports on their own assuming that no half price deal was offered on them individually (there was no obvious offer when I saw it, only the Sports and Movies combined offer).

Over the course of a year, then the half price six months Sports & Movies offer I saw would work out more expensive if you were just going to take Movies on its own, but less expensive than if you took Sky Sports on its own.

But it's just a possibility. They might have something completely different going on :)

FYI, from 1st September it's £33 for both, or £24.50 for sports only or £16.50 for movies only.

It's that daft idea that both together is better value than either separately.

Call Sky now to remove one or other, there are good deals to keep both for next 12 months running until end of July.

Is that what your boyfriend told you?

He hasn't got a clue because I deal with the sky and I suggested we have sports, if you're implying he was spinning me a line to get sports ;)

Yeah it was in a deal I got when they introduced Sky Movies Disney. I got a month free then it was a flat rate.

I am on the Sky 25th Anniversary offer, 25 months for £25/month.

I've had an email stating that my charge will increase by £4 a month.

Can someone confirm if this is correct or a mistake?

It doesn't state anywhere in my T+Cs that the price is subject to any increases. As far as I'm aware, it was £25 for 25 months.

I'm on this same package. When it was sold to me over the phone the advisor made it very clear it was a FIXED £25 price for 25 months with a 12 month contract.

I also got the £4 increase letter, but when logging into my Sky Online account it states the next payment will still be £25 for the TV bundle. If you view the TV package breakdown I think they will be giving you an additional £4 discount (pro-rata for the August payment as it's paid in advance) to make the total price still come to £25.

Obviously watch your bank account just in-case!

That's what I wanted to hear

My next bill is a bit 'busy' as it is, since managing to get Multiscreen added for £2.50 a month (was adding the half-price Multiscreen, but they messed me around so I was then offered it for £2.50) :)
