0344 241 0500 now (yes, even Sky have stopped using those money-grabbing 0844 numbers).
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

So have the Job Centre (JSA) services. The use of which was a disgrace.

Just got a letter today stating there will be a £4 increase from September.

I contacted Sky via online chat, this is the transcript:

Hi AS, you're through to Sky Live Chat, how can I help you today?
    info:
Me: I am on the Sky 25th Anniversary offer - £25 for 25 months
    William: Hi AS
Me: I've been sent a letter stating my charges will increase by £4 in September
Me: This is contradicting the offer that I signed up for
Me: Can you please clarify if this is correct?
Me: Or if there is an error?
William: Some prices will increase from September 2014. You can visit our website for more information.
Me: I've seen the information already
Me: Can you check the T&Cs for the 'Sky friends and family' offer?
Me: It states '£25 a month, for 25 months'. There is NO clause or mention that this will increase during the 25 months
William: Let me access your account and check if there is any increase on your account.
William: Are you the named Sky account holder?
    Me: Yes
    William: Thank you.
William: Just checking that for you now.
info: A transcript of this chat will be sent to xxxx@yahoo.com as requested.
William: Thank you for your time and patience.
William: AS, I did check your account, I see that even you have a price increase on your account.
Me: There is a mistake then.
Me: You will find that a LOT of friends and family of SKY EMPLOYEES that were offered this 'celebration offer'
    Me: will be very annoyed.
Me: It was only available to Sky staff friends/family
Me: I have the T&Cs with me and would like to escalate this complaint.
Me: as it clearly states a FIXED price (£25) for a FIXED period (25 months)
William: Just checking that for you now.
William: Thank you for your time and patience.
William: AS, I'll transfer this chat to my manager who will assist you on this.
    Me: Ok
info: Please wait while your chat is transferred to Lucas.
info: ** Please do not share your full credit card information, security code or CVV during this chat **
Hi AS, you're through to Sky Live Chat, how can I help you today?
    info:
    Lucas: Hi AS
    Me: Hello
Lucas: Please give me a minute while I go through the chat.
Lucas: Thanks for your time and patience.
Lucas: AS, I've read the chat and checked your account.
Lucas: I do see that you have been offered £25.00 for 25 months but received a price increase.
Lucas: What I'll do is get this investigated and you'll receive a response within the next 3 days.
    Me: Thank you
Me: Will you also investigate it for the many other Sky employee friends/family customers as well?
Me: This should be clarified for everyone as soon as possible, otherwise you're likely to get many more annoyed customers
    Lucas: Sure. We will.
    Me: Ok, thank you again.
Lucas: Do you have any other question?
Me: No, I will wait for the clarification (that there is no increase for the 25/25 offer customers).
    Lucas: Sure.

Let's see what they make of it....

Pound (4 in this case) to a penny they never get back to you.

Rampant Recycler I've been Money Tipped!
Urgh Sky introducing their new 'European football' channel so they can charge us extra ££ a month I see. Bit a joke considering they're losing the Champions League rights and to my knowledge only adding the Dutch league.

I'm not fussed, still get my broadband for free for 2 years regardless of what's on the free channel! (already had sky sports and broadband prior)

That's when you turn to social media and have a go about them and they do what you want to avoid bad publicity.

You might be fussed when you realise that there's nothing very much to watch on Sky Sports now and want to cancel but cannot.

    Hopefully you're not.

There's still quite a bit to watch on Sky Sports, even without the Champions League (which they still have for one more season anyway).

They'll still have more Premier League football, more lower tier football, rugby league, cricket, rugby union internationals, European Champions Cup rugby, NFL, Formula One etc.

If you're only interested in football, and Champions League football at that, it's going to sting but even without the Champions League I'd still take Sky Sports over BT Sport, although I won't deny I'll miss the Champions League and I do miss Premiership rugby union.
