I am 64 !!
Plus there are 9 pages on this thread and it goes back over a week or more, there is a lot to take in. I can't remember what I had to eat yesterday, let alone what was said during last week.:rotfl:
I have now read all the posts over again and things are becoming a little clearer. :rotfl:
CPW told me when I ordered the phone today and asked about transferring my credit over, that as the new phone is an upgrade I would not be issued with a Sim and just to transfer the old one into the new phone. When I pointed out my Sim is not the right one she said I needed to purchase a new Micro Sim when I get the phone so I will have to use up the credit on my old phone first. I don't have much left anyway, only about £2.50.
64 is not old. What are you thinking? If you said 94, I might agree.
The story about buying a new SIM is utter nonsense, but I can imagine that you confuse them in the shop.
If you call Orange, they will send you a new SIM and transfer the balance over. But for £2.50 I'm not sure that I would bother. Just keep it in the old phone and use it up there.
Though if you want the Orange number moved over to the T-Mobile SIM, you may need to call them anyway. Look here for that
Should be the same number for both Orange and T-Mobile: 01707 3150000 -

Alright 64 might not sound old except some days I feel 94
Thanks for the number, I will give them a call once I have received the phone and new T-Mobile Sim and used up my credit on my old phone.
Do I need to leave the new T-Mobile Sim out of the new phone until the Number is ported across to the new phone or doesn't it matter?0 -

You can have both of them in phones. You haven't received the SIM yet?? When did you order it?0 -

No, the new sim is supposed to come 17/18th, so could be in the post today.
By the way, why is it important to get the "internet" or "international" packages before I apply the Top-Ups? I wondered about that.0 -

Please read the existing posts, rather than getting me to add more and more. 176 posts now. That is ridiculous.
Again, these questions have all been answered. What you state above is not what I have written.
Don't mix 'Plans' and 'Boosters'.
Go back and read.
If you didn't apply for the plan first, then how would they know which free bundle to apply when you topup?0 -

Plans, Boosters and Top-Ups all mean the same to me - money added to your phone, that's all, how they work I am not interested in. You have ALL the knowledge that it is second nature to you and because of that think that after I read it, it should be second nature to me. I have had one mobile phone in my entire life, that's all and have never had anything to do with plans, boosters etc. I got my daughter to set the mobile phone up for me as do millions of pensioners I guess. The only thing I have ever done with my phone is Top it up at a shop with a tenner. That is it! Why look for stress where you don't need it. I retired for a peaceful life.
This is why i said mobile phones to me are a necessary evil. I was a secretary for 35 yrs and used dozens of "typewriters, manual ones, electric ones" and finally computers and had to learn different software for them all, I was sent on dozens of courses and training until it came out of my ears until in the end I told my manager at a performance assessment that I had had it with training, I had had enough. I ended up being an Administrator with responsibility for IT problems over a team of girls (something I absolutely hated but was an essential part of the job to run the team. All this technical information or "mobile knowledge" is just another episode of technical stuff I can do without.
Thanks for your support but I will just go into a shop and get them to sort it out. Job done !0 -

I think that says it all. Completely wrong.
You contradict yourself. You have the option to follow simple instructions. But instead you continue to ask questions in an attempt to 'understand'.
You can't. You don't have the capacity. So just follow the instruction, exactingly.
There was no 'Technical knowledge' to glean. The problem here is that you are unable to follow the simplest of instructions.
As an aside, my mother who is of a similar age, handles all of these things with ease.
The only stress that exists is because of your particular personality.
Even with the ordering of the phone...instead of just following my instruction, you did it your own way and came a cropper.
Follow what I have written, without wondering this or that and there'll be no problem.0 -

"The problem here is that you are unable to follow the simplest of instructions."
I am not in a classroom taking orders from a teacher, I was looking for advice, not a sermon or a judgment on my mental capacity.
"You can't. You don't have the capacity"
That is quite a mean thing to say, I hope you don't speak to your mother like that !
"The only stress that exists is because of your particular personality."
Another judgmental remark when you know nothing about me !
How did I come a cropper ordering my phone ? I ordered it, just as I wanted it and it arrived today just exactly what I wanted, no problem?
I can now understand how some young people can get so bullied on line they commit suicide
I am glad I have the maturity to realise that people do not always realise the effect of what they are saying when they are talking down to people on line. You obviously don't work in customer service.
I will sort the rest myself.0 -

You post is almost funny.
180 posts later and you think that you did it yourself.
In addition, complaining that you have been bullied because someone has been trying to help you, above and beyond.
Sort the rest yourself?? You haven't sorted anything yourself.
You'll simply be using the knowledge that you gleaned from my posts and others.
If you don't, it will either be out of spite for yourself or that you don't have the capacity to understand what has been written.
180 posts don't lie. No one is bullying you. But I can't keep explaining the same thing over and over again.
So, try not to appear so ungrateful.0
