Neglexted to mention....if you look at the SIM card link in post #52 you'll note that apart from the Smart packs on offer(which are not of interest to you), there are two other basic plans on offer; A Text Plan and an International Plan.

The Text Plan gives you Unlimited UK text messages(SMS) for the next month if you top up at least £10. So if you top up £10 in June, you get unlimited UK text messages in July.

If you choose the International Plan, you get 70 International minutes (useful for calling your daughter in Spain) if you top up at least £10. Again, this will apply from the next month. Top up in June and you can use the calls in July.

These are completely free. It does not affect your top up credit.

So this is another decision that you would need to make, then to enquire with CPW as to whether they can apply the plan of your choice before they apply the £10 Topup.

If you choose text messages(SMS), you'll get 100 UK text messages this month and then unlimited the next month.
If International, just 70 international minutes from the 1st of the next month.

Get them to apply an extra £15 of credit on the spot and then to apply the 6 Month Internet package on page #52.

Complicated eh? But perhaps an unexpected bonus. ;)

Thanks for checking all that. Just been into T-Mobile and they wanted me to buy a £13.99 contract with the Nokia Lumia 625 as it was slightly larger so slightlly larger Qwerty keyboard but told them I didn't want a contract. To buy the 520 would cost £59.99 plus would have to top-up with £10. He said my remaining credit with orange can be ported across. I said I wanted the booster package and I was told that as long as you spend £10 you can have the booster package instead but if I want to take the eBay special offers, I would be stuck with two sims wouldn't I ? Doesn't one come automatically with the phone ? I thought about just buying the phone and booster package from the shop, does this mean I would lose out? The packages on eBay, aren't they with T-Mobile anyway so couldn't I get these deals at the shop ?

All this has already been covered. Read it and digest it so that you can make a clear decision. I have already written that if you buy from CPW you don't need to buy another SIM.
Please go back and read the posts so that you understand what you are doing.

The same £59.99 on all PAYG upgrades without any top up. And unlocked, unlike at T-mobile, i.e. can be used on any network.

BTW, if you really want to call your daughter, with International Favourites - O2 you can have 100 minutes p.m. to her Spanish mobile number for £10. Also you can get a local Spanish number linked to your UK mobile that she can use to call you.

Have no idea as to why the OP has gone to a T-Mobile shop at this stage. Didn't know they still existed.

The O2 idea is not as good, seeing that you can get 70 International minutes for nothing with T-Mobile.

I didn't suggest the Orange upgrade, as I could not guarantee that that phone will not be locked. Buy if you are sure that it is not, the OP can get it for £59.95 as you suggest. Then to use it in conjunction with the eBay T-Mobile SIM.

So good spot with the CPW upgrade if they are really unlocked. The only issue is that they might not support the OP in getting the T-Mobile SIM set up.
But for that they could pop into a T-Mobile shop once phone and SIM are purchased separately.

To be honest i have only ever purchased one mobile in my life and then it came with the sim ! Bought it at Argos, that is what I mean, I didn't think you had a choice because I thought they were in the box with the phone. If I don't have to then it is easy. I will just buy the phone with the top-up and buy the booster pack and sim off eBay.

Got it right this time ? With us oldies you know it takes a lot of sinking in :o

Anyway, I will let you know how I get on, don't want you spending your life talking to me on here when you have better things to do ;)

Not necessarily. If it comes with a Topup then it likely comes with a SIM. You need to read the posts, not just skim over them. ;)

    You're doing ok. :)

    In addition;

grumbler has suggested that CPW supplies unlocked phones.

If this is the case, you can upgrade using your current Orange SIM for just £59.95. Just stay on Orange as the phone won't be locked to Orange anyway(if grumbler is right)No topup necessary. Your Orange credit and number will move with you.

You then order the T-Mobile SIM and simply swap SIMs.

It is slightly more complicated that that, but we can explain that later.

Read the posts properly. :) You can't buy a Booster Pack off eBay.

    So, let us summarise...

Ask at CPW if upgrade phones are unlocked. If affirmative, upgrade yours on Orange(Orange to Orange) for £59.95.

Order the T-Mobile SIM from my link and if you wish, credit from another link that I will supply for you.
Take the SIM in to a T-Mobile shop and ask them to apply either Text or International plan for you and then you can get them to add the purchased credit. Then to add the 6 Month Internet Booster linked to in post #52.
They may also be able to port your Orange number over to T-Mobile. Though I don't know if they will move the credit over, so it might be an idea to use this up before you start using the new T-Mobile SIM.
(It may also be possible for you to ask the eBay seller for a Text or International SIM in the notes when you order)

Do not depend on the advice given in-store. You must be sure of what you want when you enter, otherwise you will be swayed easily by their suggestions.

I am sure I asked about the unlocked phones and I am sure they were much more expensive - about £40 more on the one I asked about.

All their phones are not locked - contract, PAYG, sim-free.
You seem to have asked about 'sim-free'.
