    I love Savoy cabbage!

You can put it in stir-fries, too! It has a lovely flavour and a lovely deep, green colour. Also all the crinkles hold the gravy from shepherd's pie beautifully!

Apparently, Savoy cabbage is good for arthritic joints! Not tried it myself! If WaSp can stand the pong, you could try it! :D

[IMG]VARIATION: Cabbage Leaf Poultice Cabbage leaf has been used for centuries for swelling, ulcers, sprains, and strains. In one Swiss hospital, patients with rheumatoid arthritis have their swollen joints wrapped at night in cabbage leaves to help reduce joint swelling and pain. 1. Savoy cabbages work best. To make your own poultice: Take some cabbage leaves, cut out the central rib, lay them flat on a chopping board, and bash with a rolling pin until the juices start to come out. Then place the leaves over the swollen joints and wrap a gauze bandage around the joint to keep the leaves in place. • Yay! Thank you! Savoy cabbage is going into my basket! I was just about to throw things and sulk that I can't do anything by myself. The part of my brain that has ever dealt with cabbage has gone on holiday, it is so frustrating when this happens.

Ooooh, I never knew that. Wonder if WaSp will cope with me having a cabbage poultice on my knees and neck?

Well, it's raw cabbage, so shouldn't be too smelly! Just so long as he doesn't wake up to,find green ooze all over himself!

Quite funny to think of your brain's cabbage pathways shutting down!

  • I think savoy cabbage is great, but probably better eaten WaS, decorating yourself with it would not be a good look imo!

I must apologise for deleting posts, I do it a lot, sorry I did not realise it was 'not done' its usually just some rubbish I have spouted!

Who's going to be looking! Anyway, if that actress can wear a meat dress, I'm sure a couple of days with cabbage accessories won't send WaSp running for the hills!

Don't worry about the posts! I haven't been aware of you deleting any! If you're unhappy about something you've posted about yourself, then that's fair enough. Don't want you to be uncomfortable. :A

Who knows! Cabbage could become the new piercings as far as body decoration goes! Especially if it makes joints feel like spring chickens!

  • Don't worry, Joan! If you feel you are uncomfortable then it's fine to delete.

Hahahahahaha! I am really tempted to try it! Yes, all the little brain cells that ever knew about cabbage have packed their little cases and gone away. It still looks like a strange alien plant to me, I only ate it last week! But I have been rescued from accosting WaSp as soon as he walks in the door and asking "What is cabbage and what do I do with it?!". This is probably good for both of us.

    Hallo Robin!

Yes you're right! I'd forgotten about roasted cabbage! I think that might work better with a denser cabbage than Savoy, maybe a white cabbage?

Hello, robin! I recognise you from several blog type threads and diaries I lurk on, good to meet you finally! They look wonderful! I think I shall have to try them next week, it could be even more exciting if I haven't remembered what cabbage is by then! I can't even remember the taste right now but I know I like it so on the bright side it could like be a whole new yummy food!

Ps. I am still sure that I have never seen anything like them in my life. I can't remember what they look like but isn't all round like that! Perhaps the cabbage brain cells might send me a postcard from their holiday and remind me.
