I do think that you are right, once one thing goes the rest has to work harder. I was doing ok until my endocrine system went haywire, everything else seemed to follow that. Also like you there are little things that we just don't worry about, like my fibroids or the very odd blood pressure thing. I just took enough pills until the bottom rate dropped (which meant the top rate did, too so now that is too low but nevermind that) and we all pretend it doesn't exist because no one quite knows why one reading should be high while the other isn't. The cluster headaches are the same, could be connected to something else or might not be so we just treat the symptoms and wonder.

I often wonder if menopause might change something because a lot of my problems are either hormonal or involving the centres that control hormones. I was honestly so much healthier on a birth control pill.

Btw, kiwi deserves a big biscuit and celebration. He just managed to get all the chickens we call the 'little chickens ' rounded up with no mistakes. Very proud of him. Herding chickens can be frustrating 'work' and not being allowed to run off when you want to is really tough.

His favourite command of mine is definitely ' round the back' though, a big round around to gather some up or direct them.

He hasn't been able to work out his left and right yet by voice command so he still goes of the hand signal and 'round the back' but considering he's just a little terrier, not a collie, and our work has been part time at best I'm pleased.
  • Awww! Well done Kiwi!

Does he get a reward now? An extra big cuddle?

As far as I'm concerned, I feel that if anyone posts something informative that they might later think compromises their privacy, or that they feel uncomfortable about revealing, then I think they should not worry about deleting it.
But perhaps it might be considerate to delete the part of the post required, or all the text if necessary, and replace it with a note saying words to the effect of........" Text/part of text deleted as I am not comfortable with it remaining on the thread". You could then add that if an individual needed help with a particular issue concerning what was in the text, they could PM you.

That's my personal view anyway. :)

I'd love to see Kiwi in action! I just love watching working dogs do their stuff!

He got cuddles afterward, and came in for a 'biscuit' ( actually a thrive chicken treat). He really just loves being told he is doing well.

To get his attention I have to sound very gruff, shouty and harsh sometimes ( ever seen one man and his dog) and when I shout his name like that ( he ignores the pay attention command , :rotfl:) I feel bad.

One of the things he is also great at is sit / stay ...so though his return to me can be less than great when excited he can be asked from some distance in the gruff voice to sit/ stay and he will.
  • He knows you don't mean to sound shouty! I would so love to see him in action, I bet he enjoys it too!

Ah! But you see he doesn't hear your harsh, gruff voice as being harsh and gruff! What he hears is " this is mum's 'we've got to go to work ' voice which means some lovely fun rounding up the stupids after which I will get a chicken 'biscuit' and a cuddle!"

Eurgh i feel crappy though as i went to the pub to meet up with a friend yesterday, she insisted on buying this cocktail and i have no idea what was in it  but i had 2 glasses and promptly felt drunk so went home, and still now am feeling rough :o

And re: side effects, the fluoextine give some weird electric shock type feelings. Its most noticable when i try and sleep and feel all fidgety and twitchy.

  • Anyone help with a memory blip, please? I want a cabbage to serve with shepherds pie. I have eaten cabbage my whole life but they suddenly look like strange alien green, white and red things that I have never seen before. What cabbage do I need?

This is what I get for trying to order shopping while WaSp isn't here...
