It's quiet! Early nights for everyone?
I have now forgotten which two keys to press to lock my phone even though I have had the same locking system for years. I think it's time to sit very still with the laptop and touch nothing until WaSp gets home. The reason I had my phone was because WaSp just sent a text saying "Send me an emergency text saying I have to come home". He is with BIL. I did so and now I am giggling.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Oh dear! Sounds like BIL is giving him a hard time.
Maybe BIL didn't like what was said at the meeting.(I just lurve spiders!)

This is very possible! I am a frequent excuse to WaSp, especially when he used to work and his boss wanted him to stay late. BIL and various other people he tries to avoid must think I am permanently at deaths door judging by the amount of emergency texts and phone calls I have made. I don't mind, at least I am useful!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

LiR, thank you so much for your comprehensive reply, and do feel free to delete on my account, cos I can see it's quite personal stuff. You do sound quite similar to DH. I'm going to put what he has, but I will delete later cos it's not me, and he asked me to edit an earlier post (he hasn't seen it, but I told him about it) for similar reasons.
He has
No use of one arm - the nerves have gone so he can't lift it, but the hand on the end is the better of the two
No use of either thumb and no fine motor skills in his hands
His 'good' arm has an enormous tear in the shoulder (no, they won't mend it, long story!) Right shoulder keeps coming out of its socket (unrelated)
No sense of balance and a rolling gait. Apparently he shouldn't be able to walk at all, but he does. He can't lean backwards without falling over
Significant muscle and nerve damage to both legs, which suddenly give way or refuse to move
No sense of direction. Seriously. He has lived here for nearly 12 years and can still get lost within 2 miles of home.
Nystagmus
Digestive problems - has had gall bladder removed and this was probably necessary because of past meds
TN
Continuous neuro pain in left leg
Tinnitus and deafness (we are the appalling couple who can't hear each other)
Arthritis in his neck and knees
Hip pain of unknown origin
Very little sharp pain feeling in his skin, and can't feel hot and cold (except in his feet!)
He is bipolar.
Umm.... I think that's it. Will that do?
The real joy is that the hospital has said there's nothing more they can do for him, and the GP is useless. I can't get him to go, so there is no support, really! (But actually things are pretty good at the moment, altho I am scared to say so out of superstition.)Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -

Yep, they stop worrying about 'minor' ops when you are n that state.
Yes, we have some similar symtoms. I had a lot more problems with proprioception in the past than I have now. Balance too has I proved. I mean, I won't be tightrope walking any time soon, but....its ok. I lose hearing a bit ( not fully) but I have to admit....in a weird way though its inconvenient I kinda like that often. Its the ultimate drawn up drawbridge. Tinnatus, like the 'nettles' most of the time I've made peace with....its like radio lost in rates.Ears / head have however been one of the things that have ( besides memory and more complex issues) 'taken' music from me to a great degree....so I'm lucky radio four is so interesting.
I lost smell for a short while and that was dreadful. I could smell pee, elder flowers that sort of thing, and very strong scents. The day I realised I could smell grass again was incredible. Temp regulation issues. Bone degeneration was raised after my last scan. I think its multi factoral in my case...and more related to health enforced lifestyle rather than health. My teeth are in a bad state too, as well as years of excess vomiting they are suffering from the dietary problems I'm having. Calcium, vit d intake etc . I haven't worried too much about this yet because getting to a dentist can be a bit of a night mare....making appointments can be hard, I don't know I'll be able to attend, and extended dental work with the tn is going to be a bit of a problem. I'm not scared or anything, I just cannot guarantee I can keep my mouth open if I get a twinge.

Goodness that's an impressive list. Between all of you just getting on with it, remind me never to complain about my completely trivial aches and pains ever again.
I am attempting to stay awake and enter competitions whilst trying to watch Wolf Hall at the same time. Won't be here for long as I'm still trying (and have been failing so far this week) to limit my evening screen time and get to bed by 11.
WaS, Gitdog is my equivalent of you, the number of times I have to shoot off because "mum can't have the dog." It used to be my shifts as a ready made excuse but I don't have that anymore. Slowly getting used to the discipline of working from home, but the amount of driving is taking a bit of getting used to. I keep nodding off in the chair - my young, active and needing no sleep days are clearly long gone.
Edit - Lir, are you eligible to attend the community dental service? Appointments can take forever to come through but they're a bit more forgiving for people who can't make it at the last minute for various reasons and don't turf you off the list like the usual nhs ones do.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

My planned routine. Laptop till 9, 9.30 at the latest.
Gitdog laptime for an hour.
Walk Gitdog, in bed by 10.45, read for 20 mins, nod off well before midnight.
What actually happens.
You lot make me stay on here for longer than planned. Gitdog still needs his hour lap time which takes us to 11, 11.30. By then Gitdog is looking so content and snuggled plus it's dark and cold outside so I procrastinate by watching crap telly. Eventually prod self off chair to walk Gitdog at midnight ish. Still need to read for half an hour. Panic that the 61/2 hours sleep I'm not going to get isn't going to be enough, so stay awake fretting I'm going to oversleep. Drop off at 1.30 ish.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
