Pyxis - some dyes don't fade and anyway you can get them retouched. You can also get them done places where the skin sags less, if you really want to. Or not.

Do you think anyone would notice if I had a wee nap?
You're not napping! You're resting your eyelids.

Yep, if I had a design that really, really grabbed me, I might, but there's no point me having one just for the sake of it.
There comes a point where everything sags, you know! :D

Hmm... a turquoise ankh might be nice.

Or a turquoise one of these....

Actually, if I could trust the tattooist to do the triple spiral accurately, I probably would, but only a tiny mistake in the flow of the single line would ruin it. The whole beauty of it is that it's a single line.

Cripes Code! i just googled hexadecimal, and the page just swam! I've never known Wiki not explain something easily before! My head hurts now, and I still don't get it!
(But then I never did binary at school or anywhere else, either!)

Lovely, isn't it? And it's all one line! It took me ages to figure out how to draw one, but when I did, it was sooooo therapeutic, I just can't tell you!
It's Celtic and there are some carved in caves in Scotland somewhere, I think, or the Shetlands, or one of the islands, I can't remember!
Anyway, the really famous triskelion is in Northern Ireland, where at a certain time of year the sun shines down this passage and lights it up. Neil Oliver did a piece about it.

That is a really great design pyxis, quite mesmerising!

code, have no idea how heximawhatsit works, but anything that takes a few years off has got my vote :)

I know what design I would have (a little sort of stick hedgehog that my dad draws on everything). I love the thought that it's unique, and that it has a lot of personal meeting.
  • Whenever I see a triskelion I think of the symbol of Roissy in The Story of O... *blush*

I have "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened" tattooed with flowers at the bottom of my back - the quote is from Dr Seuss and the flowers are fuschias, for my dad :)

I want to expand it into a "Storybook" piece - at the top, a stylised Celtic doe with "After all this time?" across the back of the deer and "Always." across the chest. In the middle, the Black Rabbit of Inle with "What is, is what must be." curved around it :)

Aargh! Just read the synopsis of that book! Yuk! How dare they steal the triskelion! It's a symbol of life, not subjugation and torture!
    WaS, don't google it!

  • Just catching up with the thread...... wondering why Millie's sister and/or niece can't help out with the company/ care stuff.
I'm not happy with WaS being left :(

Having a better day today after a couple of miserable weeks. Hope it lasts.
