Nope, there's something very soothing about computer programming. It's like trying to solve a puzzle and translate it into a different language simultaneously. You can put your headphones on and write code and get lost in it for hours.
Code has always amazed me, my ex/best friend does games programming and i've always found it fascinating how lines of code can essentially make a game etc. :o Its like a whole new language to me :)

Sadly my coding is nowhere near that exciting. I deal with statistics.

Big hugs, sorry about the promotion, code. WaSp would agree with you, he can code for happily for hours. Right now he is making me a digital kitchen timer which he built from scratch from various components. He has been writing the code for it for weeks.

I had 7 hours sleep and feel a lot better, that's actually 19 hours asleep in a day, impressive even for me. I managed to catch how I was feeling early enough to prevent the other worlds from happening and then the anti-psychotics took over which was a huge relief. Wasp told my carer not to wake me when she arrived at 11.30 and left for Milliefleur's at 4pm when he knew I would be ok. I am happy to say I think it is over and now I am just left feeling shaky. Hopefully that is the last chemical blip for a while.

Thank you all so, so much. I was so scared and alone this morning and you all helped me through. I would be so lost without you all. Writing everything I am thinking down seems to really help keep me grounded, it is when I keep all of the thoughts inside my mind that I lose touch with reality. So please forgive me for two very long CBP posts, I needed to to be heard and needed to read what I had said back to myself. I am so sorry if they distressed anyone.

  • OMG - I can see tremendous commercial potential for WaSp's kitchen timer! This time next year you will both be millionaires! :rotfl: Seriously, Mr JM says he MUST get a patent, and please take the details off this site (ie edit your post) so no-one steals the idea!

Sooo glad you're feeling a bit better. Sorry I came to the scene so late this morning, though! xxxx And well done to all who WERE there

  • I could do with one of those timers!!

Hahahahaha! Ok, JM I removed the details of how it works! I have tested a Beta version and it really helps me. Now WaSp is working on the final product. It didn't occur to either of us to patent it, it is something he created specifically to try to help me and so far it really does. I should talk to him about its potential, he never thought about anyone else using it, either.

Pretend you didn't see that, Joan! You never know, perhaps it might become commercially available if I can convince WaSp that there is interest. He will be so confused, he never thought of anyone using it other than me.

Yes, I feel a lot better now. I will be shaky for a few days but the worse is over. I wish that I could predict when chemical blips will happen but it seems to be completely random.

  • I really do think loads of people would buy that timer! I don't know much about patents, but perhaps we will see WaSp on Dragons' Den soon! (OMG that would be so exciting, he could tell them all about this thread! :p)

Do tell WaSp I think he's wonderful, not only for being able to think of his invention, but for supporting you in your cookery! :D :T

  • Hahahaha! I shall mention it to WaSp when he gets home. He will be utterly confused because neither of us thought of anyone else using it, it is just created to suit my needs. I told WaSp what would help me and he made it happen. I have no idea about patents either, or anything about launching products in general. Perhaps this can be our new project!

Hi WaS, am back earlier than expected. I'm so glad you're all right. I've been thinking about you all day. I really must get a smart phone so that I can get online when I'm out, if necessary.

I'm so very sorry I had to go. If it were just me, I wouldn't have, but I was taking an elderly friend with mild Alzheimer's on this coach trip that was all paid for, and I had to pick her up and drive to the pickup point for the coach to leave at 8 a.m.

I'm so glad Code was able to come on and talk with you! :A
