Thinking of Code and elsien today both dealing with new job roles! I hope by the end of the day you both feel a little more settled.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Not that I am shoving him out of the door or anything but I have just found the perfect activity for WaSp's 7 hours to himself. He loves building things out of electronic components and writing code but he often says he wishes had someone to bounce ideas off of.
There is something called a Hackerspace here. It is a place where people interested in technology get together in a workroom already equipped with tools and spare parts and share their ideas and help each other with their projects. You can work on whatever you like and turn up when you wish and get to know others who have the same interests. It is £5 for the day which I am sure we can budget for every 2 weeks. I am really cursing my memory,
But there is a voluntary thing in some areas where people can take broken stuff in and people fix it or help them fix it. I'm wondering if that might be something for wasp to consider too? I think there is a small fee for the fixing, but its such a good idea.
Someone else might know what this thing is called:o0 -
He would love that, LIR! He absolutely loves doing anything technologically/electronically based, it is a very dear hobby to him and if it was helping people he would feel even better! The more I think about it, the more I think that it is important that he takes these 7 hours for himself.
There is also a computer club in this town where people construct computers and laptops together and all share the spare parts they have with each other. That is also a possibility.
It is so much easier to find activities for WaSp than find activities for my rota. There might be some avoidance going on...Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Popec,
I haven't read all the posts properly yet. If you haven't been drinking, I am wondering if this is something b-eat can help you with.

lostinrates, Waves and Smiles, jobbingmusician, thanks for the reply,
I am me, but noone wants my passion, my selflessness (even my boss said the other day I need to be more selfish) , my friendship.
No, I do not take any medication, as I don't believe that it is any use. I did many kinds, nothing ever helped, many gave ugly side effects. I know what I need to feel better. And finding this group is one of them and I very appreciate that. I need friends as I never had one since I was 7. I need to be around people, even as sometimes I use tube I am trilled if someone walks by me too close as I desperately need human touch. I need people at work to treat me fairly and as a human being. But people hurt me and now I have a huge wall around that noone wants to break.
It is just so hard to get up all the time. I feel that so little can make me happy but all the attention and kind words go to the popular, flirty, chatty, bubbly kind of people even if they do not deserve that.
My sister, who is also very down has therapy and she paises her therapist, she wants me to go with her if the therapist allows, maybe I should, I can't lose anything by trying.0 -

It's ok. I get on well with my new manager. I think a lot of things are going to change but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'm also being removed from the cliquey group a bit and the change in line management might mean I get a chance to do new things. It's just ... unsettling and I wish there'd been some warning because I feel like my previous manager must have been desperate to be rid of me.
Hugs popec.
Hi lir
WaS that sounds really positive.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Ah, Popec I understand. When you mentioned human touch I remembered how I used to ride on buses just to be near to people. I would sit on seats close to people just so that I could feel their arm against mine, feeling the touch of another person was so important.
I do think that it would be a good idea to try your sister's therapist, as you say you have nothing to lose. You are clearly a very giving and caring person, as I was told today sometimes those of us who care so much about others need to spend some of that time caring for ourselves. I struggle with that as it sounds as if you do.
You have new friends now. We will always accept you just as you are and no matter how you feel. There is almost always someone here to reply, we are a talkative bunch! Welcome to the thread, I really hope you stay with us.
Of course it is unsettling, Code. Getting out of the cliquey group sounds like it could offer you new opportunities though! Your managers might just be restructuring, I doubt they wanted to get rid of you. It is probably something to do with efficiency and maximising potential, which could make your job a whole lot more interesting!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I would have said I didn't need medication too.
When I started taking it my DH said he felt I had needed intervention since my last physical health blip. ( a couple of years) the relief was so incredibly quick. I have no discernible side effects, but is take a lot of other medication and have other health problems so it might be hard to tell if I did.
You certainly cannot lose anything by trying the therapist. But I also think that often we have to accept that we don't always know what's best for us. We know what's best for getting us to and keeping us where we are. So sometimes we have to try something new or retry something we haven't enjoyed but stick at it for longer for things to get us into a different position.0 -

Your day sounds positive too!
It might be that this manager was desperate to get hold of you, ( that happened to DH....his name wasn't even floated before he got nabbed ......that his old boss didn't want him is neither here nor there:p. his new one saw the value of him, no one else got a look in to even offer.0
