Hope elsiens day has been good.
First days can be so exhausting. First weeks can feel like first fortnights!0 -
Flying visit as my brain has ceased to function and I have a pair of trousers to turn up for tomorrow. Or I may just sink the rest of the red wine.
I am now full time, half IMHA and half IMCA. Which is good, although I was looking forward to the extra half day a week at home from being on less hours.
Code, I always thought my boss was desperate to get shut of me, but found out today I'd been given a really good reference. Which they didn't have to do because I'd already left. Sometimes even if you don't always see eye to eye with people it doesn't mean they don't recognise your good qualities, so don't see the move as being negative. Just better suited to your unique talents. And with nicer people.
WaS, that hacker thing sounds great for WaSp. Even if he's not sure now, take the offered money and run, the chance my not come again. Your description of your social worker as a warm and squishy steamroller really made me chuckle btw.
Do you do knitting? - you can do little shawls and jackets for premature babies if you want to do something useful. And you have your MOOCs (keep thinking Moobs which I'm fairly sure isn't right) if you're keeping up with those. And any baking you have to post pictures of - have you seen Greying Pilgrims thread on here where she puts pictures and recipes of meals magicked up from nothing.
Popec, I don't have any useful suggestions, so I'll stick to a hello if that's ok.
Oldest gnome, glad you made it in one piece, still not in the slightest bit jealous, not in the slightest.....
Thanks for all the kind thoughts everyone, today wasn't too traumatic (aside from navigating my way through a city I rarely visit half of which had road closures and diversions. Myself and the satnav had one or two words along the way.
And a hello to haybel, MU, dibuzz, divorced dad, and anyone else I've missed along the way.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Happy to share my blog through pm I can't remember who wanted to know.... Can you pm me so i dont lose the post on this rather fast moving thread!
Will take a few days to respond as we will be bushcamping!0 -
Hello oldestgnome! It is so nice to hear from you! I am so jealous, I would love to meet a sealion, they sound adorable! I cant wait to follow your blog!
Well done on the first day, elsien! If they offered full time they must be impressed with you! Sink the rest of the red wine and let us know if Gitdog left the house intact. My social worker is deceptively squishy, the woman has an iron will underneath that!
Knitting is possible but somehow I always end up with a tight triangle that won't move off the needles. That isn't to say that I can't practice. I will sign up for another MOOC in January, that should take up a day at least. It is actually really hard to think of 14 activities when you don't go outside. Surely one can be updating your thread on here? Plus a couple of other internet based ones like shopping, learning, reading related articles.
How about seasonal ones like present wrapping, card writing, baking, making xmas decs, decorating flat, tree etx?0 -
Oh, relief. I have just received the Warm Home Discount winter fuel payment into my account. I can now turn the heating on. It is 14c in here and I am not supposed to be in an environment below 21c on account of my body temperature being all lopsided. Yay, heat!
Oooh, good idea! Updating this thread can be one! Just like if I was writing a diary. Seasonal ones will also work, as I celebrate everything I can probably find an activity every week. Online shopping I do anyway so I shall add that. Thank you, it has stopped looking so daunting!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Knitting, like anything else, does take bit of practice. Baking's been suggested, you could do that twice a week.
How about writing about Sir Puglet's Travel Tales? You could have him visiting all over the place and having adventures (bit like Paddington Bear without the wellies)......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Have a look at Mooloo's thread, she writes it as a diary and it's been going on for 6 years under different titles.https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4856227.................

1. Mon
Practical : Menu planning day. Where Was prepares menus and shopping lists for the fortnight ahead
Physical: physio or exercises
Creative writing day: was spends 45 mins to an hour ( with egg timer! )
Tuesday
Practical:
Floor vacuuming day
Physical ( physio or exercises)
Creative: a visual art.....have you got a sketch book, some thing you could also maybe do collage in and experiment with colour and stick images in that you like?
( I'd also try to define a time for the physio.....does that happen at roughly the same time each day? So you cane do what ever your supporting exercises are in your carer or physio's absence at the same sort of time so that becomes your active hour.
Does setting something out like this help? We could help you build a week/fortnight, but you'll have some things you'll want in some places so silly building a whole week/fortnight with out seeing if you like it!0 -
Thank you so much, I love the idea of sir Pugliet's travels! I used to write stories for a friends little boy and I loved it!
That really does help, LIR! Something like that is exactly what I need. Physio is around 11am 4 days a week and errr less regular the other days (no carer). I do need to adjust that because I really need it. I do like the idea of something creative, I used to do lots of things like that. My social worker said an activity only needs to last an hour or two twice a day, just something to give me structure everyday and give me different things to think about. She said mental and physical stimulation are of equal importance.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
