Hackerspace sounds like an excellent way for Wasp to get out of the house doing something that fascinates him with like minded people which will also give him a bit of social life too.

Now you;) You're a very good writer so how about some factual a la http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Loony-Bin-Trip-Kate-Millett/dp/0252068882 or creative - pinch a couple of characters from someone else and develop their lives. Or knit/sew/ - Sock Monkeys are very easy to do and people are hilariously creative with them.
Paint - copying a small picture can be very satisfying.
That's me out of ideas for now :)
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
  • Also, on the note medication, Popec I have also tried many medications and had very bad reactions to a lot of them. It took a while but we eventually found two that work and give me no side effects at all. There are many different types out there, some made especially for people who struggle with the usual ones. The antidepressant that I take is specifically for people who cannot take the others. It isn't offered at first (because it's expensive!) but it rarely gives side effects and has helped me so much. I am not saying try for more medication if you don't want to but please don't discount it, either. New ones are being created all of the time and there is likely one that will work for you.

I would have said I didn't need medication too.

When I started taking it my DH said he felt I had needed intervention since my last physical health blip. ( a couple of years) the relief was so incredibly quick. I have no discernible side effects, but is take a lot of other medication and have other health problems so it might be hard to tell if I did. :)

You certainly cannot lose anything by trying the therapist. But I also think that often we have to accept that we don't always know what's best for us. We know what's best for getting us to and keeping us where we are. So sometimes we have to try something new or retry something we haven't enjoyed but stick at it for longer for things to get us into a different position.

I think I'll try her therapist - she has her last visit tomorrow and last week was just offered a full year of therapy, I'll maybe ask the therapist about any other medication. My sister and I are alone in the UK for the last 7 and 5 years and we still have no friends. We try to help each other through the bad days or cry together. But you guys give me hope and it is fantastic. I am not better yet, but I know you guys are the best thing happened to me for a long while.
    Thank you.

You know, I thought of writing, errata. I do have this half written book that needs to be dealt with for a start. Sock monkeys and painting could be fun, I have never tried painting. I do have my Russian Dolls to paint so that could start me off. Certainly cooking with WaSp is also possible, I quite like cooking and miss doing it.

Looking at my care plan it says WaS will create a rota of 14 activities a week, I don't seem to have a choice in that! I need one for each morning and afternoon although they can repeat. The idea is to give me structure and make me function on a daily basis, fortunately the choice is up to me about what I do.

Moving countries can be isolating. Although its good to make friends in the community of the new country it might be an idea to try and find friends from 'home' here to try and start building your social network. Would that appeal to you? Language specific book shops used to be good in London, my guess is that kindle and amazon cut down the need for those :(. But Food speciality shops ( depending where you are from) might be a place to make contacts, or restaurants......Dh is now chums with the people at the local pizzeria.
  • Just thought I'd pop in and say hi from Puerto Madryn :)

Looks like all is well in the thread, big hugs or warm handshakes to all, hi popec ☺

I went swimming with wild sealions this morning, it was like playing with puppies the females and juveniles love to interact with us, they were rolling and tugging our fins, nipping my hands and asking to have their bellies rubbed. We played tug of war with my wetsuit sleeve!!
  • Hope the new management arrangements are ok code :)
    Good luck elsien :)
