Just needed to be heard for a little while

I start my new job tomorrow. This is more complicated than it sounds as I've had several phone calls changing the job offer (mainly in a good way) the last one being on Friday pm. So at the moment I'm not sure what job I'm going to be doing. I said I needed the weekend to consider, and still can't decide what to do.
So plan a was to sort out work clothes (I've spent years in jeans and a top, so "proper" work clothes has sent me into a slight panic.) I was also going to get on top of the house work and laundry, do some meal planning (packed lunches are also a new experience) and possibly put up the Xmas decorations. And decide which job I wanted.
Plan B with my usual procrastination was to stick a lead on Gitdog, and head up the motorway to find other bull terriers to jump on, Sun was out, I was all wrapped up, Gitdog terrorised to his hearts content. Lovely afternoon.
Slight downside - still got all of Plan A to get through.:rotfl:All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I would have gone Plan B, too elsien. Take plan A slowly, have treats inbetween. Whichever job you choose you are going to be great at it, they obviously think so or they wouldn't be giving you such a choice! I'd take that as a huge compliment!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I just cannot afford to get ill right now, especially now my social worker is involved. We have already broken my care plan, it is pretty important that I give a good impression. I shall wait until Milliefleur is home and everything is a little more stable and then have a very quiet scream into a pillow, I think.
How is everyone else? Tell me something unrelated! Or hit me over the head with hammer to stop my thoughts cycling. One or the other works...
I think it's important that you don't give a false impression, that would only leave your SW fighting with one hand tied behind her back.
What type of hammer do you fancy? A rubber one that naughty chippies used to send their wet behind the ears apprentices to buy?;).....................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Apprentices were often sent for a left handed screwdriver or - (from an Australian site) -
The long weight was always my favorite.
I worked in the aviation industry and we actually used weights to calibrate some of the aircraft instruments, so this one worked really well.
We sent the young lads down to the store room for a long weight, and the storeman always kept the joke going and left him at the window for about 20 minutes. when he arrived back to the window and the apprentice asked where his long weight was, the storeman asked him wasnt 20 minutes long enough for him.
Then we had the tin of striped paint, the mercury magnet (used when the mercury in our test equipment was spilt).
We also had them do a tap test on the instruments, when there was nothing else to do. They had to get a screwdriver and lightly tap the instrument for 5 minutes every 20 minutes for the day.
And lastly there was the molicote (very black) grease on the eye pieces of the microscope, so when you asked them to check the tension on some brushes just before lunch they would get to the canteen looking like Harry Potter.Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.0 -
So Milliefleur called again to talk to me! She got a nurse to give me the number of her social worker. They told her that one of her carers will visit at 8am every morning and she has been worried about it ever since. She wants to have a lie in sometimes and feels that she will have to get up at 5am to clean the house before they get there! She asked me if I could call her social worker and ask them if they could make it 9am. She can't ask anyone else because everyone is against them coming and might be rude and WaSp will worry and she doesn't want him to think that he has to turn up early to clean for her. She doesn't want to call her social worker because she doesn't want to be any trouble so I could I make it sound like it was my idea.
I maybe on the verge of making myself a tinfoil helmet, I won't even mention what the voices are saying about radiowaves from all of these phone calls.
Hahahaha! Yes one of those, errata! I am going to ask my social worker if I can contact her if MIL wants anything said to her social worker, it is easier for me to talk to someone I know and who knows me. I will be honest tomorrow and I will say that if I am going to be a go-between can we make it as easy on me as possible please?Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Ignore the voices, they're all technophobes......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I did try to say that to her, errata but had no luck. She has always had a pristine house which granted lately hasn't been quite so spotless but it is still cleaner than my flat most days! She worries about how she appears to people, it is why her appearance is always as perfect as she can make it.
I just told the voices what you said and they said a rude word so I said one back and now I'm giggling.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Sorry, if I write the rude words they need to hear I'd be PPR'd!
However ,,,,,,,,,,, I do have sympathy for you as not long ago I was prescribed a med which gave me a non-stop male choir singing the same 10 bars over and over non stop from getting up to going to bed. Not an experience I would wish on anyone......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Oooo, Errata, that is fascinating (and must have been awful)! Have you read Musicophilia? I do get serious earworms sometimes but full blown musical voices like that are quite rare, I understand
WaS - I can provide some rude words for your voices as well, if you likeMr JM is the electrical person and says RADIO WAVES FROM MOBILE PHONES ARE COMPLETELY HARMLESS. And he knows!
elsien - I wouldn't worry too much. Maybe something smart for tomorrow, so you can get the measure of their normal dress code, but my advocates wear jeans all the time! They certainly wouldn't dress TOO smartly as it is off putting for clients.Good luck with the new job! xxx
