  • Awww, haybel, thank you so much. I was about to say how I am not a nice person at all but I remember my homework from JM so if someone says I am nice I shall attempt to believe it! Your pm means the world to me, I have it printed out with the notes from my doctors.

By all means say whatever you like to the voices, it makes me giggle if nothing else!

Don't worry, I am not going anywhere. I have lost the urge to suddenly delete the whole thread and pretend it never happened, it has taken a life of its own and seems to be useful to people now so I wouldn't remove it. Nothing will happen to me, I am not suicidal and I do think that the last time I tried it was my last. Really, after getting through everything so far it would be a huge waste to give up now, plus it would hurt people and as you know that is one of the worse things that I can consider myself doing. You're all stuck with me!

I am very glad to hear that we are stuck with you and that you are not going anyway. I have never in my 14 years on interent forums every enjoyed a thread so much. I often think of you throughout the day and wonder how you are getting on.

    I've been Money Tipped!

    !

This is a little reassuring. I am often afraid something poorly timed or written will be 'used by the voices against you' and so I'm often unsure what to say out of fear of making things uncomfortable for you.

If it doesn't trigger them I think they should pipe down too.

Sorry today hasn't been a good day.

Rain is forecast soon, good summer showers!

I love rain too....but maybe not as much as we had last winter/ spring. :(

That's true - best thread ever!

    WaS
    always
    Super :D

I can't even start to reply to the wonderful posts tonight - so many brilliant posts, and posts that show how much this thread means to so many other people (I bet it's reaching at least 6 times as many people as have posted). I really must drag myself away and do some housework, though! :(

  • I really am so glad that you are enjoying the thread so much, haybel I am too! It is a huge comfort to me and I love that everyone can say how they feel. I think of us all as a little group of friends now.

Don't worry, LIR the voices don't tend to use anything that doesn't distress me or cause me anxiety and nothing on this thread does. Telling them to be quiet doesn't affect them at all, but it cheers me up to feel I have people on my side against them!

Rain is good! I have my rain sounds on right now.

I distract a lot, Duke! Honestly, there is hardly a minute of the day when I am not reading posts on a forum, watching my partner play his computer games or failing that babbling to him or my friends inanely about anything at all. The worse thing for me is sitting thinking, then I hear them very clearly and I get very anxious very quickly.

I also cuddle Pugliet a lot, too these days and smooth his fur, he gets babbled at too!

For the most part they are like tv sounds in the background and I know not to concentrate on my hearing, this is why I have so many problems with sounds - if I try to listen to something the voices become much clearer too. Oddly enough, in silence I can sort of unfocus my ears (I use imagery for this and imagine my ears blocked with cotton wool) and concentrate on whatever I am doing and not pay attention, they then turn into an illegible rumble. This totally goes out of the window during a psychotic episode, though when they are all I can hear, it is the only time that I am frightened of them.
