Also, in other happy news, I'm very close to finishing knitting my scarf. It will be only the second scarf I've ever knitted. After this, I'm going to try to crochet a scarf too.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

WaSp will be getting another Christmas jumper this year. I haven't bought reindeer yet so that will be this years theme!

I have a Christmas onesie that I wear at other times because it's warm and snuggly.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Ohhhhh, that is adorable, Code! He looks wonderful and very happy! It really does suit him so much, thank you for showing me.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Oh dear, water is pouring through MIL's bathroom ceiling. Poor WaSp only got here an hour ago, he is on his way back. I am not too good at spending the day alone, forgive me in advance if I make 30 posts within the next hour...Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I love Christmas jumpers. I'm going to buy another one for myself for this year. I even have one for dumbass dog. Do you know how hard it is to buy jumpers for big dogs? Everyone said I was mean but he liked it and I thought he looked adorable.
I know how hard it is!0 -
Aw, thank you code. I am ok being left for a while overnight most times but then being alone all day too and possibly into tonight again makes me nervous. Not that I think that I am about to freak out or anything but my memory problems are a worry, I need to be ultra careful when preparing food or making tea and especially when taking medication. Plus people are passing by the door all day going in out which I cringe at most times, it makes me a lot more jumpy when I am alone.
Oh well, nothing can be done about it. We can;t leave MIL like that and she has an electric fan in the bathroom ceiling, too. WaSp has told her to sit down and touch nothing!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

lir - I knew you'd understand. Some of these sellers class a pug as an extra large dog.

I missed the puppy picture
Probably best. I am forever looking at doggy rescue pages and wanting more animals but I have to be realistic and I would struggle to cope with more.
I do hope wasp manages to sort the watery leak problem out and there isn't too much damage.
Maybe I can distract WaS by discussing something I have been wondering about........ feeling a bit timid as this is something I have never spoken to anyone about and when I have looked on the internet it says there isn't much information.
When I was a small child I had an imaginary friend, only in my head not one of the ones where a place is set at the table etc but I would imagine adventures. I was brought up in a 'Children must be seen and not heard' type environment and spent a lot of time sitting quietly with nothing to doso I would invent stories and I know at times I would laugh out loud or speak accidentally . The friend became a whole family and would occupy me whenever I was alone or at times like the long walk home from school for example.
I've always thought this was a relatively normal behaviour for a child , not sure though, maybe for a lonely child, although I did have friends and a sibling but they weren't there all the time.
Anyway....... what I am interested in is the fact that the imaginary family still exists and has grown up with me . They vanished into the background for many years when I was a busy mum and had very little time to myself and could barely think. I think they just gradually reappeared and at times of lonliness and /or stress they are there for support and comfort . They are all lovely people and I really enjoy having them there ...... am I weird, lonely, odd or do other people do this ?
I might delete this later if I feel uncomfortable about it ...will see what happens so answer carefully . If you're up to it of course ...Decluttering, 20 mins / day Jan 2024 2/20 -
Imaginary friends
With DD being young, I am thinking about imaginary friends.
Books and stuffed toys were my friends as a child but imaginary friends I thought were fairly common.
I don't think adults would admit to imaginary friends but I am really interested in this. How does would it work? Does someone 'see' the imaginary people (I am not a visual thinker)? How do you know it isn't a hallucination? Is it because you retain control of when they appear?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0
