Dumbass dog is absolutely adorable! I love his eyes!

Oystercatcher, you are more than welcome to moan here, look at me, I moan all of the time! In fact I am about to moan again! I really hope that you begin to feel better soon but please feel that you can share with us if you want to, no one will ever judge you here.

Well for the final blow on top of thyroid problems and TOTM, I am just getting over another cluster headache! Absolute agony for 2 hours but it's fading now, the new medication seemed to work which is a good thing. It usually lasts a good 10 hours but it is so much better already (this isn't stopping the stupid voices laughing about brain haemorrhages, though). Oh, and I seem to have some kind of skin infection under my arm. It is very sore, bright red and feels wet. I feel like I am waiting for the next bit of me to break (told you that I was going to moan).

Something positive is needed to counteract that I think-my pretty waste paper basket arrived. For some reason I have never bought one and always take rubbish to the bin in the kitchen, hence it builds up into little piles until I move. It suddenly occurred to me to buy a bin and put it by the sofa. Now all random bits of paper can be disposed of by me stretching out my arm. Should have done that years ago...

PS. I'm bored. I have read everything that is safe to read on the internet and WaSp isn't here for hours yet. I think I shall read all of the MSE Christmas threads from years ago, that might keep me occupied. To say money is going to be tight this year is an understatement. The car service is due and the battery is only lasting for 3 days, we desperately need a new one and a car is absolutely essential, the cost of a new battery is £200. So far the only way to pay for it is on a card which I really don't want to do but there is no option, neither of us have any spare money at all. I decided to ask MIL for money for my birthday so that I can use it to buy her Christmas present, it is her birthday in November, too. She would understand if we didn't buy her anything but we both realise we don't have much time left to do so, so we want to get something for both. Any cheap Christmas ideas I can find on here will be useful!

I also heard back from my social worker and I will keep some funding, but it will be for 30 minutes, 3 times a week which is less than now (they have adjusted my care plan to say it allows for 3 baths in 5 days). I am going to have to pay for more because physio exercises and a bath aren't going to fit in 30 minutes and I am reluctant to only do the exercises every other day-savings on cigarettes can be spent on that. Again, they said if MIL will accept a carer funding is in place to free up WaSp to be with me as he used to be, that is not going to happen. For some reason everyone keeps overlooking the fact that BIL is the one getting carers allowance for MIL but hardly does anything, not helped by MIL telling everyone that he does so much for her, grrrr. We are really having to bite the bullet on this one, we can't force MIL, she is 94 is November and has always lived with just family helping. This is a horrid thing to say but it is only for a few more years, then we will have more money and WaSp won't be rushed off his feet. We just need to survive until then and we will always know that we did everything we possibly could for her.

Incidentally, BIL called WaSp yesterday and moaned how hard it is for him looking after MIL and how he doesn't get enough support from WaSp and SIL. WaSp put the phone down on him. He is convinced that MIL has dementia, she doesn't at all. It is BIL forgetting things because of the alcohol, MIL has only just had an assessment and they found her to be completely aware and in control of her thoughts. He keeps telling her that she is forgetting things too, which makes us very angry.

Ha, I did an entire update on my life. Well done if you are still awake!

    oystercatcher,

If you want to moan, feel free. If you worry about dragging anybody down, you can always white it out like we try and do for penguins. You could put 'Eeyore' instead of 'penguin'.

    WaS,

I still chuckle that our monthly cycles are so synchronised. Thanks to the coil, I am currently having the lightest, most pain free period of my life.

Could it be thrush under your arm? Natural yoghurt may help if so but do consult your GP.

Well done to WaSp for putting the phone down. It is amazing how many years it can take before one decides not to listen to crap from family sometimes.

I have lost a huge, yellow round thing. Has anyone seen it?

  • Morning, whitewing! No huge yellow round thing here but a lot of small watery things!

It is amusing how we always have the same cycle, I had forgotten when mine was due last week and was going to ask you.

I was wondering if it's thrush. I shall get WaSp to buy some yoghurt on his way here and see if it helps.

WaSp has been very good these days at drawing the line with BIL. The fact he is being horrid to MIL is helping there, plus saying he isn't getting support is ridiculous. It is WaSp who spends every night with her 5 days a week, BIL stays Friday and Saturday night as long as he isn't seeing his girlfriend. WaSp is far more her carer than BIL has ever managed to be.

  • A friend of mine with cluster headaches was greatly helped by having an oxygen cylinder to breathe from. The doctor took some persuading to provide one as he didn't see why it would work, but it did, and quickly.
Birthday present for the lovely MIL - what about some of the shells etc you picked up from the beach recently? She will know what a huge step it was to go out & I'm sure she would appreciate the gesture.

You could make her a shell bottle garden or something. Or a mirror or magnifying glass with a shell frame. (I think you can get squarish magnifying glasses).

There is always something new to marvel at. Today I saw a mobility carriage that had two seats, one behind each other. I've never seen a dual seater before. It's great how people can get out and about these days. I know it's easy to knock our country but we do live in a great place.

I'm not here. This is in no way a displacement activity while I try to avoid thinking about my team-working qualities.

WaS, £200 for a new car battery seems a lot. Can you post in the car bit of the forum to see if any one can come up with some cheaper suggestions for you?

Alright, I'm going, don't tell me off.
