my housemate was worrying about an interview the other day and my advice to her was try and be confident, even if it's fake confidence, walk in there actually believing that you are the bees knees (which you are!) and let your awesomeness shine through!
This is where the acting sessions come in useful. You can pretend you're acting in a play, playing the part of this high-achieving interviewee, the outcome of the play being that, after a highly successful interview, (with lots of internal giggling and external smiles), (and 'thought bubble' voice-overs - that only the audience can hear - talking about goldfish on heads!), the protagonist gets the job! :T

Talking of going walkabout, I was hearing on the news about those GPS things for people with Alzheimer's to wear, so that they can go out on their own, but if they get lost/go missing, they can easily be found.
Perhaps they make them for dogs!
Seriously, though, I'm sure one could be incorporated into their collars. I know it prob wouldn't be cheap, but then if they were on sale generally, the cost would come down?
After all, they're on a lot of cars - mine came with a tracker thing - so why not dogs?
Any enterprising IT entrepreneurs out there?
You can get something similar for dogs but it only tells you where they've been which is not useful. The trouble with incorporating a gps tracker in dogs would be the power pack and where you'd keep it as dogs don't have pockets. Water and mudproofing would be an issue too - at least it would with dumbass dog.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

I bet it could be done though!(I just lurve spiders!)

Yes, but there has to be a transmitter as well, so I suppose that would be a bit bigger than a microchip.(I just lurve spiders!)

Good afternoon all.
Ok, don't laugh. Much. Along with the arrival of TOTM I now have...insomnia! I can't sleep at all! I am so tired but sleep is impossible so I have given up. My body is playing with me, isn't it?
Elsien, as has been said to you, treat it as a day out and don't be intimidated by those on the panel! Have you ever been the interviewer? If so, I don't know about you but when I did I was always as nervous as the interviewees. I had to sit on a panel with the director and line manager and I would be frantically reading the T&C's the night before, terrified that I would be asked a question I couldn't answer in front of my bosses! I don't know about the director but my line manager felt exactly the same, especially as the director gave us this rousing speech beforehand saying how we were representing the company to the public. Panic!
These people you will see are very human, and possibly quite nervous themselves! I agree with JM, you could do a directors role easily. Plus they wouldn't be interviewing you if they thought you couldn't do the job, I bet they eliminated loads of candidates before you.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

LIR your dog Kiwi's definitely human :rotfl:
Hope everyone's well, I'm doing some serious catching up on here today
It is dog dog that normally freaks me out.
Today dog dog and kiwi had their annual health check. Kiwi kissed EVERYBODY at the vets twice. Dog dog glared at them and swore offensively at a poor little beagle.
When I asked dog to sit she demonstrated non compliance twice, Then sat on a chair and raised an eye brow at me. ' well....I'm sitting aren't I?'0 -

Oh dear.. Routes to out west can be really awful. I live not that far from Bristol in miles but its quicker Generally for me to get to London, which is nuts. Train routes are hugely expensive ( dh's commuting costs are huge) but pretty good trains often.
Drive safely, horrid weather today.0 -
Hahahahahaha! Good for Dogdog! And Kiwi sounds so sweet. Is Big Dog ok, too? I confess that I miss it when people don't mention their pets for a while, hearing about them brightens my day.
Yes, do get home safely, JM. I feel rather guilty now because it is windy and pouring with rain here and I am loving it. I could do with several degrees warmer though.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Dog dog sounds brilliant lir. I love dogs that are proper characters.
Dumbass dog just got a bone that was as big as his head. He's chewed it into a million pieces and is now dozing on my feet. He's being a total cuddle monster lately which I love.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0
