  • Aw, loving the dog stories! It really does make me happy to hear about them. It's the quickest way to make me awww and laugh. I have never heard of puppy parties! I want to go!

Lir, I am so jealous. I've always wanted to be 'exotic' but I'm not :(

As promised here is Dumbass Dog. I don't know how long I'll leave this for as I worry that his previous owner will see it and track him down and take him back.

ETA: Just to be clear, this is illogical since his previous owner handed him into a rescue centre. I didn't steal him. Just wanted to make that clear.

ETA: dumbass dog photo gone now.

    Good afternoon all.

Ok, don't laugh. Much. Along with the arrival of TOTM I now have...insomnia! I can't sleep at all! I am so tired but sleep is impossible so I have given up. My body is playing with me, isn't it?

I certainly won't laugh, insomnia isn't the least bit funny.

I'm not around much at the moment due to being too busy seeing my grandsons :)

  • Just popping in to wish Elsien good luck for tomorrow.
My tip is to try and reverse things in your mind so you are interviewing them to see if it's the right job for you !!
I hope it is the one !

I've been quiet because I've been feeling very low and miserable and I don't want to come on here and moan . So I won't moan.

They do puppy parties at our vets and Always-Hungry-Dog loves going to the vets. As Always-Hungry was so sociable we decided to get Grumpy-Dog from the same place, the following year. He seemed friendly and lovely when we chose him but as soon as we got him home his true personality started to show , he hated the puppy parties and growled at the other puppies  so he still doesn't like going to the vets.

Over the weekend we realised that one of our five chickens is male ! He's still quite young and has just started to make little crowing noises occaisionally. We are really hoping he doesn't become too noisy as we have neighbours very nearby and only a very small garden. He was tiny when he arrived so we have got really fond of him ( or her as we thought!) so it will be hard if we have to rehome him. I'm pretty sure if we send him back to where we got them from he will be sent for slaughter :(

    Dumbass Dog looks lovely :)

    Oystercatcher.

Its ok to 'moan' here. Just be warned some of us like to try and be proactive with suggestions which I know isn't always helpful:o when you need people just to listen.

There was a very naughty puppy at kiwis puppy parties, and kiwi and one other were often chosen to play with him. Kiwi wasn't particularly bold, but he didn't mind the growling ( besides which he was used to big dog and dog dog rough playing....hard)

It might not have been helpful to his owners, apart from to see his character better, but it was to the vet nurses, I bet that doggy has a little red warning on his notes.
  • Puppy parties sound wonderful :D

It's so lovely to "get to know" some of the pets a little better, dumbass is seriously cute :). I really like to hear what Kiwi, dog dog, big dog, full of beans, always hungry, grumpy dog and Gitdog plus any I've missed have been up to! I miss having pets so enjoy them vicariously instead, I am also an avid Barnes the cat fan on the pets board.

Elsien - humorous and good advice from many as ever, I can't say it any better than they have :)

    Oooohhhhh penguins :)

Reminiscent of last weeks training class. In theory we were teaching the dog to seek eye contact. In practice, Gitdog stood with his back to me, his body language strongly expressing " you want eye contact, you know where I am." He looked so funny, the trainer took some photos for the how not to page.

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts, and here's to wishing everyone an eurrgh free cheerier tomorrow, and that all hormones are safely back under control where they belong.

Would love to read about Gitdog's guide to training? :D
