When I asked dog to sit she demonstrated non compliance twice, Then sat on a chair and raised an eye brow at me. ' well....I'm sitting aren't I?'
Reminiscent of last weeks training class. In theory we were teaching the dog to seek eye contact. In practice, Gitdog stood with his back to me, his body language strongly expressing " you want eye contact, you know where I am." He looked so funny, the trainer took some photos for the how not to page.
Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts, and here's to wishing everyone an eurrgh free cheerier tomorrow, and that all hormones are safely back under control where they belong. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Yes, do get home safely, JM. I feel rather guilty now because it is windy and pouring with rain here and I am loving it. I could do with several degrees warmer though.
Big dog is ok too. But she isn't part of the scheme at the vets where they get twice annual health checks.
When I was feeling a little 'twitchy':o earlier this year part of my getting everything on order for fir to keep things easier for me without me here was to sign up the fitter and more able four house pets to this scheme so it would be easier for him to keep on top of and for them to notice things He might not but I would IYSWIM.
Big dog isn't going to be about long enough for it to make that much sense for it. But it makes sense for the others to stay joined up, because as my physical health declines they can do more and more. E.g. On this scheme all vet nurse appointments are free, so they can do things like trim nails etc when I have got past struggling with it.
Kiwi loves the vets because he went to puppy parties there. We had never done this before. I think they are fab and If we got another dog I'd certainly do it, and if anyone else did I'd say go to them, and if your vet doesn't offer them change vets! Only problem is kiwi expects to be let of his lead and be allowed to climb on everyone and play with everyone..
The other nice thing about puppy parties, is you get to cuddle Other people's puppies. There were some real cuties.0 -

Good luck tomorrow.
Our command for eye contact is in Italian. Dog dog likes eye contact. She likes me to KNOW she knows what I am saying and she's doing it because she wants to, not because she thinks she has to. Problem with an off lead sight hound is a 'pay attention' or look at me ' command is difficult of they are 200 feet away before you've opened your mouth, :rotfl:0 -

Si, Toscano., I haven't heard from him since an email earlier.
He doesn't know much about this thread, unlike the other two ' long term' threads I am part of. I've tried explaining various bits but I don't think he really gets it yet.
