Oh that's charming, going on about all the sleep you're getting when I hardly get any :p:rotfl:

Sorry Dibuzz! If it helps this kind of sleep doesn't make one feel well refreshed. :o

Any news on sleep clinic or anything for you?

Hahahaha! Sorry dibuzz! For what it's worth my sleeping does nothing for me at all, I am still exhausted when I wake up.

I can get a nurse to come out and take my blood fortunately, I shall have it done now rather than wait. I have been trying to stay awake to get a sleep pattern back but it's impossible, when I need to sleep I just do no matter what I'm doing.

(You may slap me with a wet fish, dibuzz, but yay for feeling great today!)

Fwiw, observing good diurnal rhythm also has shown on studies to help with some aspects of mental health and definitely helps with some endocrine balance.

( sorry di buzz) so its good reason for us all to be early to bed and early to rise..) or at least try to! The reason teens have screwy sleep patterns Iirc is because they have screwy hormones :D

Left to my own devices, bed time creeps ever closer to 2 or 3 am, and getting up time closer to the afternoon.
Which aside from being a terrible pattern to break once work rears its head again, leaves me feeling guilty that I've wasted so much of the day. Because once it goes dark in the winter I can't motivate myself to do anything constructive at all indoors or out, so I beat myself up about wasting my life.
I've been spoiled by a job 10 minutes from home, and all the ones I've see so far are going to be an hour. Which will mean getting up at 6.30 to walk Gitdog, a thought that fills me with horror. Done it before and struggled, because getting to bed before 11 doesn't work for me, then I have to read a bit, and my 8 hours to keep me halfway functioning don't happen.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

That is right out of the window right now, LIR. Yesterday I woke up at 4am after a 12 hour sleep, fell back to sleep at 8am, woke up at 12pm and then gave up trying to stay awake and went to bed at 3pm until 2am this morning! Now my eyes are heavy and I am yawning everywhere. It has been like this for 4 days now, I have hardly seen WaSp, nevermind managing a meal or taking my medication on time which is meant to be every 4 hours.

Ignore me, I am frustrated and feel like I am missing life. Plus I am freezing!

  • I totally understand the feeling of missing life, elsien. Not that anything has happened but by my count it should be around Tuesday by now because I have missed so many hours, how did we get to Friday already?! I am usually a slow sleeper, too who takes 2 hours to nod off, something has gone wrong!

(waits for the 2nd wet fish slap from dibuzz)

I have sympathy with you for the early starts. One of my jobs involved a 7am start and I lived 2 hours away. I never got used to getting up at 4am particularly as it was shift work and sometimes I wouldn't finish until 10pm the night before. Home by midnight and up at 4am was no fun!

I don't mind you all getting more sleep than me, no point us all walking round like zombies :)

I hope you get sorted out soon WaS, are you sitting under a blanket to warm yourself up a bit?

I prefer to be up early, I get much more done.

No wet fish, I couldn't touch one ;)

  • Hahahaha, I remember when WaSp was given a fresh salmon by one of his friends. I stood looking at it in horror thinking but it has eyes!! I tried to prepare it and you have never seen such a disaster in your life. We ended up giving the bits I'd chopped off to MIL for her cat. I couldn't feed it to mine because did I mention it had eyes? This was when I realised that I am one of the sad people who can only cope with meat and fish that looks as little like the animal as possible.

I am under a blanket with a hot water bottle, pyjamas on and cuddling Sir Pugliet with the heater on. Still cold! I refuse to even contemplate the electricity bill...

Put a hat on WaS - that'll keep you warmer.
