To change the subject (not from codemonkey, who I have just cross posted with), I have just had my weekly fix of fit, sexy man.

And DH has cooked us a roast for tea while we've been out, and poured me a little alcofrolic drink since I got home.

It can't get much better for a Thursday night (I'm on a promise too for later - do you think he knows about fit, sexy man!)

I just did something so embarrassing as result of side effects of my medication.

I won't get into the criticism conversation, except later when I will ask DH about advanced driving (I suspect the theory that they only comment on negative stuff is correct, but not 100% as DH has said to me before that he often had to build up women's confidence which had been undermined by their OH).

Don't worry about the meds thing though - there are LOADS of examples already on this thread. You can say anything here! :D

Ok I was out with DH and his mum today and we were going into a bar part of a restaurant. There was a queue for a table in the restaurant all the way out the door and not much space so we needed to push past. Now one of the side effects of my meds is that it makes me unsteady on my feet and I was already clumsy and there was a planter in the doorway that sèemed as if it should be heavy. I bumped it and knocked it and as it was actually polystyrene it fell and in the ensuing chaos caused by that, I accidentally kicked the doorstop out causing the door to close on some members of the queue. I fled to the bar area with mil and left DH to sort the mess. I have armpit hedgehogs of shame.

    Oh, that's not YOUR fault!

Fwiw, when I am not on some meds ( incidentally I do not drive when not on meds...no one panic ;)). I collapse a lot. I went with my builder ( whose wife and business partner posts on Mse ) to a tile shop and flaked out on him twice last year. The worst think is I giggle as I hit the floor/ just afterwards, so I seem drunk or deranged. :o

I'm ok to drive ATM, but the issue is it could be next week, next year or ten years when I have to hand back my license. :D. ( really should sort out those lessons for fir ASAP!, also some skid pan lessons......his confidence wasn't knocked at ALL be the crash....he sent pictures of his car on its back to everyone:eek:)

    Armpit hedgehogs!!! Wonderful!!!!!

I have done worse, without the excuse of meds. I managed to knock over and break the most enormous glass (think one of those wine glasses that holds a whole bottle) which was full of mint imperials, at the reception/paying area of a restaurant. It was the most squirmy horrible evening ever - a semi-friend/colleauge had bullied me into going, I didn't know anyone else there, they talked across me and ignored me, and then she told me I hadn't even said 'sorry' for breaking the damn thing. Hardly surprising as I was more or less struck dumb with embarrassment.

So I know how you feel! :)

    Oh,

I have one that might cheer code monkey up too,

Fir decided he wanted to hand deliver some of his applications, to preferred employers when he was looking for contracts....so there was no chance they could get lost on the post etc. he might be able to make a serendipitous good impression etc, who knows, right?

So, suited and booted he walks into one, and hands over the package, and then the receptionist says,

'use the switch by the door to let yourself out'

Fir walks to the door and sees three switches.

One is clearly and emergency switch ,( labelled) one is right by it, and one is an odd looking one on the other side.

Thinking know one puts a door switch by the 'break glass here' switch he goes for the other one.

Which was some sort of electricity one and took the power out to the floor.

Thanks. I feel more normal now.

When I was in primary school we had a concert for the parents and I was part of the recorder playing group. I was also helping out by taking tickets at the door so it had been arranged that this other girl would bring my recorder with her so I could just join the group. So we file in and this girl didn't bring my recorder. I ran back to class to get it, found it under a table and and ran back, into the hall just in time to play the last 3 notes of the song. Totally ruined my recorder playing career.

My favourite primary school moment. Me and my twin brothers being the 3 bears, smaller bro being mummy bear to his absolute disgust. Cue other brother and myself talking the P because he had to wear an apron and ensuing fight on stage disrupting proceedings for the duration.

Lol, I have such a vivid picture of that fight, elsien. How are you feeling these days?
