Evening all, and special pug-hugs to WaS.
I do love this thread (wish there was a better smilie for a group hug, or warm handshake, than the pervy one!)
DUKE - it's really good that Harry is so open with you about the voices. I'm sure it must help him immeasurably to share with you. x If it would help, do tell him I know LOTS of people with voices that tell them they have done horrible things, and the voices are wrong - sometimes we can prove it.
Counting things is apparently quite common (especially in musicians LOL. We (by which I mean especially wind players and extra especially percussionists) get trained to sit in orchestras counting bars' rest until we count subconsciously, and I know lots of people who will know, without deliberately doing ANYTHING, when the symphony on the record player is up to 320 bars or whatever. Bruckner was famous for counting all sorts of things - I have definitely seen a film about this!
DiBuzz - glad you are getting SOME rest. Could your son do something like wear a sock with his iphone stuffed down it? (Then deee buzz would wake him up olololol) Please do be careful with your driving and don't wear yourself out
x
It is doing my head in that DiR is the beekeeper, not DiBuzz
oldestgnome - of course, pugliet came from Harrods, was delivered by a footman in full livery in a golden box, and cost only half a million quid because they explained to me that I would have to bear the cost of the greenstringectomy. However, I have heard rumours that Poundland have recently had some Webkinz toys in stock, and they are all really good quality and really cuddly. Just the thing I might like to be given, with instructions to tell it all my problems, if I was in need of some hugs. Perhaps your friend might like one, with some flowers and chocs?
haybel - sorry to hear about your OCD - it must be very wearing((()))
Lovely photos, Pyxis! xxx
WaS - more hugs and good vibes coming your way. Hope you'll feel better, and more up to posting, tomorrow xxxEx board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -

Actually, my DH mainly kept the bees, and we will again soon I hope.
Maybe year after next.
We're also both musicians ( I'm not any more, my neurological condition 'stole' a lot of that and I find it frustrating) but DH still is. I am a counter. DH, outside playing, is not. In a way I just don't get. He plays jazz where the time keeping is incredibly important because of the playing around rhythm and tune, and knowing how long improvised solos are etc. I find it very unrelaxing to improv in that way!0 -
Hugs to you WaS! Loving the new name

Haven't had time to catch up properly/reply to people yet but just wanted to say that I am still hear and thinking of you all.
Hope you're ok WaS - sending hugs your way.
I hope dibuzz is getting some sleep and that others are also doing ok.
LIR I was really pleased to hear you had a good time with friends the other night0 -

I will of course send her a card. Any thoughts what I could include - little things or practical that may help with the anxiety or silly is good?
I've been thinking about this, and these are some things that I would like, if I were in hospital, so she might like some of them, too:
Facial cleansing wipes
Cryptic crosswords and pencil with an eraser tip
Rowntrees fruit gums
Small notebook and pen
Some funny jokes
Nail file, clippers and emery board
Tube of hand cream
Dried figs (hospitals can make you constipated!
Packet of biscuits
Magazine (horsey one?)
A funny wind-up walking toy
Parma violets -(medicines can give you a funny taste in your mouth and/or bad breath)
Évian water spray, for when you get too hot
Tissues
Earplugs, in case the ward is noisy at night(I just lurve spiders!)

One of those little Robinson's squash things in case she wants to flavour the water.
Maybe a paper fold up fan.
deodorant (only because I'm paranoid about it but would probably forget to take it)
breath freshener
packs of sweets that can be shared with visitors
book
isn't there some kind of dry shampoo that you can brush in or something when you can't wash your hair:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
