I love bees LIR! We have hives near here and they often stray inside, I am always putting them back out again. I would love to have hives myself.lostinrates wrote: »Tired bees love sugar water. Not ideal that they should need it, but if they are dehydrated or hungry...... Tough life for bees out there.
I once rescued a bee trapped in a web, that was struggling and buzzing furiously. Now, although I really like spiders, there are enough flies for them to eat, so I draw the line at them eating bees!
Anyway, I was able to disentangle it from the web, no mean feat I might add, as it's so sticky, but it just sat there, exhausted. So I went and dissolved a tiny bit of honey in a few drops of water, and then put a drop right next to the bee, not expecting much.
To my great surprise, it put out its little proboscis and started sucking. After about a minute, it furled it back in, and wriggled. I said to it, 'now after all that, don't you dare go and sting me!' That would have been ironic! But it didn't, it flew off!
Great sense of achievement!(I just lurve spiders!)

Just in a saucer would be fine, and a tiny bit, bees are tiny!0

Thanks for the link, that one worked better than the ones I already have.
I was asleep before the end and slept for 4 hours, put it back on and had another hour. Maybe I should just leave it on all day and catch up a bit14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -

I think this is a very kind thread. I am finding it informative as I have had friends with issues affecting their mental health arising from abuse. It helps me understand better.
My only useful contribution I'd to recommend the hormonal contraceptive coil. Reduces or stops periods and therefore great reduction in pmtI really recommended it and agree with whomever said some painkillers and a few hours rest make it fairly bearable to have it inserted or changed.
God luck to everyone and if is nice to see the support WaS is given here. I'm more from the money saving end of the site where the support is great too. EMDR? Something to do with processing trapped memories so they get stored properly? I saw a write up in the newspaper once and it was suppose to be quite effective (that was for an adult who was mugged, not for trauma inflicted on a child though, if that makes a difference).
EMDR really helped me process something that happened when I was young. The memories of it are still there but I don't think of it as often and they do not hurt as much as they did before I had the EMDR.
When having the treatment I used to feel a bit silly following the therapists fingers with my eyes but it was worth feeling silly as it really did help.0 -

Oh I am pleased!
Can you sleep through the day? If you can why not? On the other hand if you feel better today, may repeating routine tonight will work .
Personally, when 'out of the habit' of sleeping well, I find a ritualistic approach of bath, some nurturing wind down, , the scented approach the early bed time and never sleepin in in the morning, however tired I am, is the best way to get back in to routine. However, if you need a mid morning nap, or siesta....get to it!0 -
I get up at 5.30 anyway to get my son up for work so no chance of sleeping in even if I wanted to.
Morning meds make feel sleepy and I quite often fall asleep for about 10 minutes soon after.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -

He's tried, he just doesn't wake up with an alarm. The others get themselves up but he just sleeps through anything.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140
