It's taken a week but I've finally read the whole thread and caught up :). You really are an amazing lot, so much wisdom and insight between you all. I love the gentle humour.

I shall be reading and thanking and joining in when I feel I can. I suffer with depression and also some physical problems. Mental and physical energy can be very variable and sometimes I just go very quiet....it's the way I am...sorry.

There's some things I want to discuss when I feel ready..

I HATE phones too, I always feel I will be intruding and annoying people if I phone them so delay and put off as long as possible.... people say " Just give me a ring" and I nod and smile...and know I rarely will :(

Good luck tomorrow DUKE my mum has been having those procedures for a few years now, no fun at all .

That reminds me, when we were walking to school this morning my DD said to me:

I love you. I LOVE your energy.

Praise indeed. (I'm not that energetic really but it made my day. There is something about being loved by a small child...).

I don't smoke, but I thought I'd share this email:

    Stoptober

    Stoptober's back!
    Stoptober's back!

On the 1st October people all over the country will take part in Stoptober the 28 day stop smoking challenge. We understand stopping smoking can be tricky, so we're using the power of laughter to help you get to 28 days without a fag.

This year we have teamed-up with some of your favourite comedians to get you swapping fags for gags. There are lots of free and exciting new support tools and comedy content to help you along every step of the way, including apps, packs and daily email and text support.

If you make it to 28 days, like the thousands of people who stopped last Stoptober, you're five times more likely to stop for good.

    Good luck!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I saw a lovely pug this morning too. What was really lovely is it was fit and lean, walking with other dogs and breathing well, I passed it on the way to station this morning and was happy to see such a fine healthy and lean example of the breed. Lovely. His chums weren't bad either.

  • Oystercatcher, if you can when the "just give me a ring" next crops up, try & narrow it down a bit. For example, if you ask "When is a good time for you, maybe Wednesday evening? " you are much less likely to actually bother them if they are half expecting your call. Vague things like "any time" is not helpful. But if you offer a time, they can then agree to it or change it for a better one.

I actually love it when the phone rings, or I did until all these junk calls started! But ringing somebody when you don't know if it's convenient is completely different. Probably why texts are so popular, people can deal with them when they wish!
Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.
