Aw! I really like that you have been there, too LIR! It is my favourite strip of beach within suitable driving distance. It isn't at all touristy and mostly it is used by dog walkers which I don't mind as I get to see their doggies!

  • Hello everyone! I have had today off work, but that doesn't mean it's been a quiet day - in fact it's been super, super busy and I am rather terrified at the consequences.

About 14 years ago, before I met DH, I had the house done up by builders that turned out to be some of the worst on the planet. Since then I have had (among other things) no floor in my main living area (most of the ground floor). Anyway, we have recently been ripped off AGAIN by some rogue roofers, so we have bitten the bullet and decided to have the whole house repaired properly. By some builders who came this morning (we haven't had a quote yet) and plan to start work on (wait for it.....) OCTOBER 6th. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!

Anyway, let's not talk about that. I can't bear to think that somehow in the next week or so we have to empty the whole downstairs and most of the upstairs. And some of the loft. And arrange storage. and things I haven't even thought of yet. Let's NOT discuss it. ENORMOUS CBP FOR ME!

MU - delighted you are so happy. Try to be careful (says the woman who married the man she met on tinternet).

jojo - brilliant photo! I would love to have a go! (Perhaps we could live there while the house is being done?) :D

WaS - no scratching. And WELL DONE on your decision to go to the beach! :D xxx

OG - ooo, jealous of your lovely travels!!!

    Oh good jobbing musician!

It will change your life. :).
  • You can do it, JM! You will be so relieved once it is done and looking all new and shiny!

I shall work on my Boxes Of Untold Mystery up until the 6th October, I shall declutter something everyday to keep you company! (Misery loves company...)

  • Thank you! :)

We have a lovely friend who, almost unbelievably, is going to move out of her house (about 6 houses down the road) and move into a friend's so we can have her house. (She doesn't know it's 3 months yet, so this could change). DH has helped her out a lot in the past, so she says it will be her pleasure to give something back :o

Let's hope this works out, it would make things a lot easier!!!!!

    (Still very scared though)

That sounds wonderful JM - will completely revolutionise your lives, imagine the freedom and being able to use your whole house :) What a kind thing for your neighbour to offer, shows what lovely people you and your OH are. Time to crack on with the packing and sorting - this is a really good opportunity to get rid of things you don't need then you will have a house of done as opposed to WaS's cupboard :D One thing at a time though, we'll be here to support etc as necessary!

Glad to hear you had a good night MU.

ETA made some text white as JM mentioned CBP...

Would be an amazing view to wake up to :D
  • Wow - jojo, brilliant photo. I'd have been shaking like a leaf up there. I even get scared on a step ladder.

WaS - No scratching!! Well done on the beach decision. Also I told Captain Dumbass that you think he's handsome and he says "Woof!" with a wag of his tail and a doggy grin so he definitely likes you.

jobbingmusician - great news about the builders. Pain in the bum short term but long term it will be so much better. We're slowly rectifying the dodgy DIY done by the previous owners of this house - really should have paid more attention before we bought it.

MU - glad you had a good night. Have you Skyped with the new beau yet? (Can we please bring beau back?)

Thank you guys for your support yesterday. I put my leather jacket on which always makes me feel a little bit of a rebel (haha too much Grease as a child!). I survived and then today, the clique went off for lunch without me and I just got on with my work and didn't feel bad because I just thought about the nice things you said.

I am feeling really stupid though. I think I've misjudged a different personal/work situation or made it bigger than it was and now I feel like a total idiot and the person involved must know and think I'm pathetic.
