Trouble is, you don't want to draw blood away from the area of a wound for too long, hence why I suggested just a very short time, to gauge the effect.(I just lurve spiders!)

Woohoo! Exciting, Oldestgnome!
It's worth a try, thank you! I have never had a wound itch so much in my life!
I have taken to twiddling my e-cig so I will concentrate on that. WaSp has given up on giving up already and had a real one, the e-cigs make him want to smoke more! Oh well, more yummy cherry filters for me! This now the longest that I have gone without smoking for 24 years, I can't quite believe that it's working and no psychosis! (other than voices who are either telling em I am going to fail and talking about cigarettes all of the time, or telling me the e-cig will cause worse cancers! I am swearing at them intermittently).Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

If the ice pack doesn't work, you could try asking WaSp to give you a gentle head massage, not near the wound though! The movement of the scalp might also help the itch.(I just lurve spiders!)

Still looks scary! The rail's not very high! I'd be all right with the safety rope thing on, but not otherwise!
Did you have the option to abseil back down?(I just lurve spiders!)

Was, what about a hooded top for the beach? At least your head will be partially covered xx0

Doesn't matter if there's a rail, my fear always tells me the rail is going to give way. Jojo, that is incredibly brave, I don't think I could have overcome my fear to do that. I got stuck at the top of a Mexican pyramid once, and all my ever sympathetic mother said was " you're going to have to get yourself down because there's no air rescue to come and fetch you.
WaS, you're not going to fail. You may have a temporary blip, but that doesn't make it a fail. But it's academic anyway as you're not going to fail.
Lir, must be something in the water. I have a ricked back where Gitdog went hyper in the park and pulled me over. Not helped by a passer by advising that if he was on a shorter lead I'd have more control. And to be fair although still on the lead, as far as taking any notice of me went, he was definitely out of control. Luckily it was quiet. WAS, is your adoption offer still open, Gitdogs not been to the beach yet.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Oooh, good idea, a hood might work! It's a good compromise!
Oh dear, elsien. Did Gitdog become hyper at anything in particular or was it a sudden energy burst? I would actually love to take him to the beach! Look after your poor back.
I am making a concerted effort to ignore the voices. Anyway, they are boring. Whatever I do they always tell me that I'll make a mess of it.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
