I suspect one of the callers might be the pharmacy. My prepay cert ran out for two days. Its now renewed. They might have wanted to do my boxes while it was not valid. ( It would be early).
Also, as you pay for a prescription when you collect it, not when it's ordered, I would think that if you had already reordered your cert when you pick up your meds, that would be ok.
With the phone, the thing that worries me is not knowing who it is. (Due to some past harassment). So I find that having caller display on the phone, plus an answering machine allows me to see who's calling and to screen the call if I don't feel like answering, or if the call is worrying me.
Would it be possible to buy a very, very cheap answering machine so that you could screen the calls? Or a very cheap phone with a display screen? An alternative is to look in Freecycle for someone giving away phones and/or answering machines when they upgrade.
I do find phones worrying at times, but if I can see the number or screen the caller it is much better. I rarely answer withheld calls, so screening helps me see if it is just the local surgery calling, etc.. I never answer international calls, or 'no number' type calls, as they do make me anxious, and are probably cold callers anyway.(I just lurve spiders!)

It's free just to check the number, they only charge if you use it to call back. I just write the number down then phone back if I want to.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

My prescriptions are delivered, because I'm not always able to drive ( I sound like I 'me falling apart, right?) I normally get them on a Tuesday or Wednesday I think.
We usually take international calls through Skype/ FaceTime now ( friends family...or fir does. I'll speak but not be on the camera. So wouldn't feel need to answer overseas calls. I'll suggest answer phone or better home phone to fir. I think he'll think we should just hang on. Its been a particularly heavy month this month any way.0 -
Ask family and friends lir - someone may have an old answerphone phone that they haven't got around to chucking out yet:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

I hate the phone. I do have a mobile but use it mostly for internet because I work in IT, have a lot of down time and work for a company who are really strict about internet access.
I hate talking on the phone so much, I'm currently on a phone contract I need to change and I'd need to phone to cancel and I'm scared!Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

I fully understand that. When someone says "just ring up" I always think they just haven't got a clue.
My eldest son only uses his for internet and 1 text a day to let me know if his train is on time. It's very rare he actually uses any minutes.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
I have to say, I feel very comfortable on this thread. There are a lot of things about me that I thought were weird and now I've 'met' other people who have the same thoughts and idiosyncrasies and I suddenly feel a lot less like the odd one out.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0
