When I was 8 months pregnant I dropped a pie straight from the oven onto my foot.
Hubby took me to the minor injuries unit where they sat me in a cubicle and brought me a footstool which the nurse dropped onto my other foot.
After having the burns dressed I came out not sure which foot to limp on :D

WaS, if you've burned yourself badly enough to blister, you should probably think about getting them looked at. You don't want them bursting and getting infected. Any chance of getting a practice nurse or someone to come out and take a look? In our training at work we were always told burn blisters = medical advice. I don't want to panic you about going out, which was why I wondered if a home visit would be feasible, given the GP knows your circumstances. Phone them at least, pretty please?

Hahahahah! Funnily enough I am having a glass of water right now, solar! I am still soaking the blisters, they are too sore right now to risk lying down in bed. Perhaps I'll just blame everyone here - you all go to bed and look what happens?! I set fire to myself! (I'm joking!)
Ok, folks! It looks like we're going to have to set up a WaS-watch rota! So who's for first watch? :D:D:D

    I'm in a clique! It's a clique of one! It's a unique clique!
    I love

  • I was wondering that myself, elsien. I will get WaSp to call my doctor and see what he thinks, there are nurses who do home visits so it wouldn't do any harm to get it checked out. Plus I am literally a 5 minute walk from my doctor's so shouldn't be that inconvenient. Thank you for confirming what I wondered.

Hahahaha! You poor thing dibuzz! That is seriously bad luck!

I need one, Pyxis! You all leave me alone and look what happens! I'm not safe!

  • I am on the practice nurses visiting list, she will arrive sometime between 12pm and 2pm. I am so glad I don't have to go out again!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I think most people with long hair have a burning story...

Mine was a child standing behind me with a sparkler. I have to admit I was quite scared when I realised what was happening and it took a while ( minutes that felt like hours) to find water to make sure the heat ( don't think there were actual flames, my coat was singed but not burnt ) was out of it. I cut it my self and did a bad job because I was trying to keep as much length as possible. My then boy friend cut it and it was not much better. :). I learned not to wear my hair loose so often, And actually now rarely wear it down out of habit of scrunching it into a bun, much to dh's frustration!

Glad you're ok WaS :) definetly try an e cig, I've had mine for nearly 3 yeas and it avoid any accidental singeing!

I don't think I've managed to burn anything (other than a few holes in my duvet ) BT when I was about 4 I was playing hairdressers with my jest door neighbour and I actually got a pair of scissors and chopped off one of her pigtails! Her mum was not happy! :p

Make sure you both get some sleep later as well (you and WaSp not you and the nurse ;))
