He's a spaniel lab cross so he looks like a small black lab with spaniel ears and a white chest with black splodges and you're right, he loves being anywhere he can sniff and roll. He's a massive flirt so loves being anywhere where people might cuddle him. At the moment he's snoozing on my feet like a giant doggy slipper.

Awww, how cute! He sounds adorable! I confess I am one of these people who has to hold myself back from cuddling any dog I see. I know it is best to check first so I do try to ask owners if they mind me stroking their dogs but my instinct is just to make a fuss of them. I would clearly love your dog!

Captain Dumbass, I am laughing so much. I am glad you noted that there was once a pic of him or I may have looked as if I was hallucinating cute doggies!

He's a cuddly dog who loves everyone and everything and as a result is spoilt rotten by everyone. And he does smile. It's good when I'm feeling blue because a lot of the time I see his wee face grinning up at me and I feel a bit better.

Although, he's no Sir Pugliet.

He really does have such a friendly smile, you can tell that he is such a happy little guy. I bet he must be a huge comfort to you and he knows it, too. I have always wanted a dog, it would be completely impractical but it doesn't stop me wishing for one. Of course, I do have Sir Pugliet who has the advantage of no walks and food bills!

And of course, Sir Pugliet is a brave knight who is rocking armour.

Also sometimes CD makes this face if I'm doing something he doesn't like - like going out or not giving him my sandwich and then I feel bad.

Awwwww! I would totally give him half (all?) of what I am having or stay in with him instead of going out. I fall for sad animal eyes everytime, my cats used to know it hence I had 5 sets of sad eyes staring at my plate every dinner time. If I did actually have a dog it would walk all over me, probably literally.

I missed the pic of your dog but I recognise the look in the cat's eyes, "please mummy, give me a bit and I will love you forever"
