Oooo, I like Wellness and Stability. The trendy word of the moment is Wellbeing though - Wellbeing and Stability? Wellbeing and Support? (because WaS is being such a great support to others :) )

Wellbeing and support sounds good to me.

Hahahahahaha, awww, I love the possible names! We do have to keep WaS, I quite like that now!
I think I will ask if it can be changed as I need something more positive, it's a bit depressing to see a name that is so miserable.

Today can be summed up with one word - Drugged.

I just managed to stand up, get dizzy, crash into the wall, rebound back and fall over the table and land in a heap on the floor. I am extremely light-headed, I am slurring my speech and I cannot figure out how to do the simplest of things. I almost wish I could successfully cope with any psychotic break rather than this. I also need to keep extending my arms and legs. This is a side effect from older anti-psychotics, it is called Tardive dyskinesia for anyone who wants to read more. It only happens to me on a very high dose and the best way to describe it, is it is similar to an urge to yawn. In the same way you cannot stop yourself yawning I cannot stop extending my limbs, it is literally impossible to suppress it. It can become permanent for those on high doses but fortunately I do not get the symptoms on my usual dose so there isn't any danger. It looks very odd, is dangerous if it happens while I am walking or holding something (I am not touching anything hot or sharp including cups of coffee) and is extremely annoying!

One more day of high medication to go...

I did wonder if you suffered from TD when you said that you had been on older anti-psychotics for years :( It's good that it only manifests while you are on the higher dose (and hopefully goes away when you stop again!) Hope the staggering around doesn't last too much longer ((())) (We REALLY need a hug smilie apart from the pervy group hug one the forum provides!) :D

WaS, I sometimes get nuerological hiccups or cramps that do similar. Its an odd feeling not being in control of your body. That disconnect. I imagine its doubly hard when grappling with 'which world is which', that lack of control must challenge sense of reality somewhat?

ATM I'm just very tired. One of my meds makes me yawn, and makes me yawn so much is makes me retch, which is a bit frustrating, as another pill has stopped me being nauseous for the longest time it can remember!

Its like a medical version of the Jefferson airplane song, white rabbit.

I have one that makes me yawn a lot too, quite funny when the kids are in and end up yawning as well.

Hello JM! Luckily my usual medication dose is below the average, hence why my psychosis is never fully controlled but it means I avoid most of the side effects from the older medication. I cannot regularly take middle to higher doses though, because I am so sensitive to anti-psychotics and the modern ones are even worse. I tried one that I was told worked for everyone and ended up doubly incontinent! Right now I am on a high dose so side effects are everywhere but the TD does tend to stop when I drop the dose back down. I admit part of me thinks is it really worth doing this to avoid an episode...

Hello LIR! I am so sorry that you have something similar, it is the oddest feeling, isn't it? No matter how much you tell your body not to do it you have no control at all. I am yawning too, right now and screwing my face up every 30 seconds, again it is the same thing and it is driving me absolutely mad. Have a lazy day and relax, hopefully the tiredness might improve soon. Join me sitting on the sofa for the day and refusing (not daring!) to do anything.

Never mind the sofa, ;) I managed my longest day out of bed since Thursday. I've thrown in the towel, asked the parent who lives with me to do the dogs tonight and crawled to bed. I can yawn in peace up here.
  • Well done on being up for a while LIR! Do enjoy your time in bed, you have earned it! I tried staying in bed earlier but the limb stretching thing kept kicking the covers off and untucking the sheet! I shall just sit here and not touch anything and keep all things kickable away from me!

Eeeeeeeeek! The pug drops! My partner is going to have to do this, I'll end up decorating the walls with them...

Hello dibuzz! How are you feeling today? Join us on the sofa sitting in a heap!

I'm ok, just going through a bad spell. I've been cutting my arm the last 2 days which helps at the time but it's really sore now. I've also been pulling out a lot more hair than I usually do too.
I only managed about 2 hours sleep last night so will probably try to have an early night.
It's strange how you can feel too drowsy to function but not be able to sleep.
