    Hello everyone,

Got the news that I passed my exams and did quite well actually!

    Well done :T

I've signed up to the last part now so should all be over by December.

Only got £500 in my account now to last til I next get paid. Rent has come out already. Insurance, mortgage shortfall, mobile phone, petrol, food all has to come out. Will be nice thought to have my first month where I don't dip into my overdraft (far less live in it like I used to!)

Good luck, a little dip is better than wading in so don't be too hard on yourself if you do need to use it a tiny bit, it's still a step in the right direction

Finding it hard to stay motivated to do anything really! Not looking after myself food/exercise wise.

I find reading diaries on here are really motivating, hope you don't lose sight after all the hard work you have done so far :money:

    Grandmother died as well.

    Keep on, folks!

Condolences for your loss. Remember the good times, the fond memories will always be with you. Here's a hug from all your MSE friends :grouphug:

Every cloud.........and I also believe everything happens for a reason, so I'm sure you'll be much happier going back to Scotland and it will give you a real focus on the future.

Good luck with the move ahead

    Hello Missko,

Im in a similar position to you and, like INOD and MG said above, start tracking your spending and see how it changes. I have been using MS Money religiously for the last 10 years, but the thing that actually changed my spending behaviour was YNAB. Money would help me see what happened in the past, but however interesting it was, it wasn't with me at the point of spending.
You can try it free for 34 days, my trial is almost up and I'll be spending £30 on it because I think it's worth it. It makes you consider your every spend in the context of your whole budget and your savings goals. It won't let you forget that if you go and spend £90 on a top at Whistles, that £90 is going to have to either had been assigned to your clothing budget or will have to be borrowed from another category, I.e. dining out: you won't be able to go out for dinner with your girlfriends if you get it. Or you'll have to deplete your savings.
It will also make you start saving towards a particular goal, rather than just having a savings pot. This has made me think twice when overspending on clothes/food out because it's those discretionary spends that would always blow my budget!
It's very empowering and makes you feel good about yourself.

    Good luck!

Well today I basically got sacked! Temp job was meant to be until Christmas but they aren't that happy with what I've been doing so I'm finishing in a month.

This mean, however, that I can move back to Scotland asap then concentrate on my studies and definitely sit my exams in November. So it's not bad news.

January will see my trying to get a job and move back into my own flat.

Oh dear, Missko, I have only just read till the end. I am so sorry to hear about your job. Hope you can turn it around. Did they give you feedback, to mull over and prepare you for your next role? Sending you hugs.
