Scented candles can be nightmarishly expensive. I have a Jo Malone and a diptyque one that were both gifts that I'm afraid to burn cos I know how dear they are. Ridiculous I know but maybe some century, if my house is tidy....Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Hi, sounds like you are doing really well - keepgoing:rotfl:0

Today: I shaved my arms! Normally I pay £12 to have them waxed. (I'm really phobic about having hairy arms in the summer). I used a razor and shave gel I already had so total cost = 0.
I spoke to my dad about finances - didn't tell him anything LIKE the full horror but he has agreed to gift me a few hundred just to get me out of the overdraft.
Normally, I buy ironing water from Sainsburys. But I'm going to try using distilled water out the tumble drier. (I don't pay the electric bill!) We live in a really hard water area so water out the tap ruins the iron! (I own the iron!)
I keep getting so angry with myself about all the money I have wasted in the past - taxis, "things for the house" - bedding, wine, wine and more wine, flights in long distance relationships that didn't work out (online dating disaster x 2!)
And I get freaked out about all the expenses still to come - got to pay for more studying.
Hope everyone else is making progress!:)
Missko, I have just read you thread on the main part of DFW and have been reading your diary. You are doing well. You have made a start.
You have also said in this post that you keep getting angry with yourself about the wasted money. It's gone, done and dusted. Nothing can changed that fact, but what you can do is use the current anger to kick the debt in the bum. Don't stay angry for long though, it's not worth it. It's just money. What can they do, string you up.
This is the best place on the net. It has helped so many people who I believe would have been lost without it.
I look forward to reading your diary and following your successes.
Good luck Mikko. It will be hard work but worth it.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Hi Missko,
I have just been reading through your diary, really made me smile in a nice way....your really similar to me!!!
Your doing so well, I know it is tough trying to live on next to nothing, feeling down about putting weight on etc and not enjoying work ... and then beating yourself up for having little slip ups like takeaways.I go round in very similar circles!
I have had A LOT of help from my mum in the past so I know how it feels, and even with that help I am still up to my eyeballs in debt. I don't even have a mortgage yet to be a little proud of.
Keep Plugging away at it, and really don't feel too bad if you have a little luxury here and there..... or if something unexpected comes up (I.E Tyres) it happens to us all! The main thing is not falling off the wagon.... eventually you will be celebrating being debt free!Total debt to pay: £14,071.41/ Remaining debt: £12,884.12: Amount Paid: £1,187.29
